Co0/Co2+ Engineered N/O‐Doped Porous Carbon Catalysts for High‐Performance CO2 Hydrogenation Under Mild Conditions

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
Benzimidazole‐derived N/O‐doped porous carbon (BIDC) stabilizes cobalt nanoparticles with tunable Co0/Co2+ sites for low‐temperature CO2 hydrogenation. Co2+ promotes CO2 adsorption/activation, while Co0 enables H2 dissociation. Adjusting the Co0/Co2+ ratio and conditions switches selectivity from CH4 to alcohols.

Mixed Conversion‐Alloying Chemistry of Sn4P3 Anodes in Alkali‐Ion Batteries: Mechanistic Insights, Challenges, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 3, March 2026.
Sn4P3 offers high capacity via mixed conversion‐alloying chemistry in Li/Na/K systems but suffers from irreversible capacity loss, volume change, low initial cycle Coulombic efficiency, and interphase instability. This concept article evaluates the recent advances and charts routes to durable, practical Sn4P3 electrodes.

Metal‐Organic Framework‐Based Materials for Zinc‐Halogen (Br2, I2) Batteries: Mechanisms and Performance

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
This article provides a comprehensive strategic analysis of MOFs for the zinc‐halide batteries, how MOF architectures address critical challenges, specifically the “shuttle effect” and “sluggish kinetics” by physically confining polyhalides and enhancing electrocatalytic activity.
