The compatibility of policies

Proceedings of the 2nd ACM Conference on Computer and communications security - CCS '94, 1994
The goal of this paper is to present a study of the compatibility of policies, security or other. Two policies are said to be compatible at a given system if the system behaviours satisfy the requirements of both policies. Incompatibility can be a result of the environment in which the system is intended to operate, or, of the actual behavioural ...

Compatible worlds

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2009
We discuss a bridge way of inference between Agnostic Learning and Prior Knowledge based on an inference goal represented not by the attainment of truth but simply by a suitable organization of the knowledge we have accumulated on the observed data. In a framework where this knowledge is not definite, we smear it across a series of possible models that

Compatible tetrahedralizations

Proceedings of the ninth annual symposium on Computational geometry - SCG '93, 1993
We give some special-case tetrahedralization algorithms. We first consider the problem of finding a tetrahedralization compatible with, a fixed triangulation of the boundary of a polyhedron. We then adapt our solution to the related problem of compatibly tetrahedralizing the interior and exterior of a polyhedron.

Compatibility and Marginality

International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 2007
The authors continue their earlier investigations on \(s\)-maps, which have been introduced to define e.g. conditional probability for non compatible events in quantum structures. Let \(L\) be an orthomodular lattice. A map \(p: L^2\to [0,1]\) is called an \(s\)-map iff (i) \(p(1,1)=1\), (ii) \(p(a,b)=0\) for any \(a,b\) with \(a\perp b\) (iii) if \(a ...

Compatible hyperglycemia

The American Journal of Digestive Diseases, 1953
I. Compatible method, a new mode of control, is advocated in helping to guide diabetic therapy because: (a)53% of our group of 100 patients discontinued insulin for an average period, which has existed for 2 years and 8 months. This latter period for the individual patient varied from 2 months to 9 years and 6 months.
