The Problem of Compatible Representatives [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 1992
The purpose of this note is to attach a name to a natural class of combinatorial problems and to point out that this class includes many important special cases. We also show that a simple problem of placing nonoverlapping labels on a rectangular map is NP-complete.

A New Perspective on the Reactive Electromagnetic Energies and Q factors of Antennas

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
It is required to calculate the stored reactive energy of an antenna in order to evaluate its Q factor. Although it has been investigated for a long time, some issues still need further clarification.

Relationship Compatibility, Compatible Matches, and Compatibility Matching

open access: yesActa de Investigación Psicológica, 2018
Many leading Internet dating sites claim to be able to find compatible matches for singles, and that they use principles from Relationship Science to generate their matching algorithms. In this article, I first discuss how ―relationship compatibility‖ has been studied in Relationship Science.

Infection Control Practices for Vascular Access Management in Hemodialysis: Results From a Nationwide Survey of Japanese National University Hospitals

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.

Analysis of the Electromagnetic Effect Mechanism of EED under Continuous Wave Radiation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation
The electromagnetic radiation sensitivity of the electric explosive device (EED) and its installed use state is closely related to the size of the equipment and radiation field strength constraints.

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Effect of pH and Additives on the Compatibility between Vancomycin and Furosemide Injections

open access: yes, 2018
The physicochemical compatibility between injections of different agents is very important. An injection of the antibiotic vancomycin (VCM) is acidic and its standard pH range is 2.5-4.5. In clinical treatments, VCM injections are often used with Lasix® (
