Necessity of the Conditions of $$C_p$$-Compatibility

2019
In this chapter, we will discuss the necessity of the conditions of \(C_p\)-compatibility for system (III) with coupled Robin boundary controls. This problem is closely related to the number of applied boundary controls.

Compatible conditions, entanglement, and invariants

Physical Review A, 2004
Summary: To find whether a set of reduced density matrices comes from a common multiparty state is a hard and important problem. In this paper, we do the following. (i) We introduce a method to find out some polytopes in one-party eigenvalue space which are sufficient conditions of this problem.

On the compatibility conditions in a curved membrane

Meccanica, 1981
Compatibility conditions for a membrane taking on the shape of a surface with given non-constant Gaussian curvature K are deduced. The system for the unknown displacement in general coordinates is integrated, by making use of the non-holonomic basis formed by the unit vectors tangent to the lines K=const.

Compatibility conditions for gauge transformations

Il Nuovo Cimento B, 1992
A new method is proposed for the construction of Lagrangian gauge transformations, the number of which matches that of independent primary first-class constraints in phase space. By imposing compatibility conditions with Lagrangian constraints, dynamical symmetries depending on arbitrary functions of time are found.

The general theory of compatibility conditions

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1966
Abstract This paper contains an improved and enlarged version of our previous work on the geometrical and kinematical conditions of compatibility associated with moving discontinuities in material media. When combined with the dynamical conditions of compatibility, pertinent to the problem under consideration, the general form of these compatibility ...

Compatibility conditions for Hamiltonian pairs

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1991
Conditions necessary for pairs of Hamiltonian operators of first through fifth order to form Hamiltonian pairs are computed. In the case of bi-Hamiltonian systems involving a Hamiltonian pair, one operator of which is a first-, third-, or a certain type of fifth-order operator, a technical condition in Magri’s Theorem can be dropped.

Decomposition of derivatives and compatibility conditions

Journal of Geometry and Physics, 1996
Along a hypersurface \(\{x\in V_{N+1} |f(x)= 0\}\) in an \((N+1)\)-dimensional manifold \(V_{N+1}\), partial derivatives and covariant derivatives can be decomposed into ``inner derivatives'' (tangent to the hypersurface) and ``exterior derivatives'' (transverse to the hypersurface).

Counting compatible boundary conditions

1980
The index theorem of M. Morse, which counts focal points weighted by multiplicity in positive regular problems, and the extension by the author, which counts focal points weighted by a signature in problems not required to be positive regular, are further extended to the counting of compatible sets of general self-adjoint boundary conditions ...
