KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

On the compatibility condition for linear systems and a factorization formula for wave functions

open access: yes, 2012
The well-known compatibility condition for linear systems wx=Gw and wt=Fw is considered and new results are obtained. In this way, a factorization formula for wave functions, which is basic in the inverse spectral transform approach to initial–boundary ...

O dwu odmianach metody Pohlhausena i ich zastosowaniu do przepływu w sąsiedztwie punktu spiętrzenia

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 1968
This paper contains a description of two variants of the Pohlhausen's method and their application to the stagnation flow point at a moving wall. The two variants differ by the «compatibility» condition which is a conclusion from the boundary layer ...

Compatibility of sportswomen at selection in commands on group exercises of artistic gymnastics accounting their functional condition

open access: yesPhysical Education of Students, 2013
The degree of trained and predisposition of work is certain from data of mechanisms of energy-supply of sportswomen. 40 students took part in research. The degree of trained sportswomen was determined on results a vectorcardiography.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Bandlimited Distortionless Material Design by an Approximation of the Heaviside Condition

open access: yes, 2020
The distortionless propagation of signals in a medium offers a way to preserve the signal integrity. There exists a condition for distortionless propagation on a transmission line known as the Heaviside condition.

John Martin Fisher’s Viewpoint Regarding the Necessary Free Will in Moral Responsibility [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت و فلسفه, 2014
Free will, as the most pivotal human feature, on the one hand, has been considered, in the West, as the most fundamental condition of moral responsibility, and, on the other, based on the world being deterministic, has opposed determinism.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
