Risks, risk assessment and risk competence in toxicology

open access: yesGerman medical science : GMS e-journal, 2015

Development of a personalized visualization and analysis tool to improve clinical care in complex multisystem diseases with application to scleroderma

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background In complex diseases, it is challenging to assess a patient's disease state, trajectory, treatment exposures, and risk of multiple outcomes simultaneously, efficiently and at the point of care. Methods We developed an interactive patient‐level data visualization and analysis tool (VAT) that automates illustration of a scleroderma patient's ...

Nonparametric Estimation of Cumulative Incidence Functions of Recurrent Events

open access: yesStatistica
The present paper discusses modeling and analysis of recurrent event data with competing risks. We propose non parametric estimation of cumulative incidence functions of recurrent event competing risks model.

Nonparametric identification of accelerated failure time competing risks models [PDF]

open access: yes
We provide new conditions for identification of accelerated failure time competing risks models. These include Roy models and some auction models. In our set up, unknown regression functions and the joint survivor function of latent disturbance terms are

Hydroxychloroquine Associated with Lower Glomerular Filtration Rate Decline in Lupus Nephritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) protects kidney function in lupus nephritis (LN) by preventing flares, yet some cohort studies show no significant benefit in kidney function with HCQ. Clarifying these conflicting findings by showing early and long‐term benefits of HCQ on kidney function preservation is critical. Therefore, we analyzed data from our

Bivariate exponentiated generalized inverted exponential distribution with applications on dependent competing risks data

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
This paper introduces a novel bivariate distribution derived from the univariate exponentiated generalized inverted exponential (EGIE) distribution, which we term the bivariate exponentiated generalized inverted exponential (BEGIE) distribution.

Competing risks methods

open access: yes, 2007
Competing risks data usually arises in studies in which the failure of an individual may be classified into one of k (k > 1) mutually exclusive causes of failure. When competing risks are present, classical survival analysis techniques may not be appropriate to use.

Double‐Stranded DNA Reduces dsRNA Degradation in the Saliva and Significantly Enhanced RNAi‐Mediated Gene Silencing in Halyomorpha halys

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The invasive pest Halyomorpha halys causes significant crop losses requiring innovative pest control strategies such as RNA interference (RNAi). However, oral RNAi is largely ineffective in H. halys. This study shows that double‐stranded DNA (dsDNA) stabilizes dsRNA in saliva by inhibiting a highly expressed nuclease.

AN ADDITIVE SUBDISTRIBUTION HAZARDS MODEL FOR COMPETING RISKS DATA

open access: yesMedia Statistika
Competing risk failure time data occur frequently in medical a number of methods have been proposed for the analysis of these data. The classic approach is to model all cause-specific hazards and then estimate the cumulative incidence curve based on ...
