A new competition law for Korea : political, economic and legal context

open access: yes, 2021
For the first time in 40 years, Korea has completed a major revision of its competition law, the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act. The new amendments enter into force in December 2021.

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

Antitrust settlements: how a simple agreement can drive the economy International competition law series./ Giovanna Massarotto.

open access: yes, 2019
Competition enforcement authorities use settlements as a tool to ensure compliance with antitrust law. Companies can make commitments to remedy breaches, ensuring that they avoid litigation and potential fines and reputational damage.

Room‐Temperature Skyrmionic Synapse in 2D Ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 Operating via Collective Spin Texture Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a neuromorphic synapse in 2D Fe3GaTe2 flakes. The device operates via a current‐driven transformation from a skyrmion‐lattice to a stripe‐domain state, yielding a linear anomalous Hall resistance response with a tunable slope to enable multiply‐accumulate operations. Simulations confirm its viability in artificial neural networks.

A Tale of Two Competition Law Regimes: The Telecom-Sector Competition Regulation in Hong Kong and Singapore

open access: yes, 2007
Competition law has seen very active development in Asia in recent years. Ironically, Hong Kong and Singapore, as two of the freest and most competitive economies in the region, long held a skeptical attitude towards competition law.

Stable Protein‐Based G‐Quadruplex‐Derived Supramolecular Bioinks as Tunable ECM‐Mimetic Constructs Assembled by Combining Non‐Covalent and Covalent Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Harnessing the synergistic interplay of supramolecular self‐assembly, under macromolecular crowding conditions, and enzymatic‐mediated covalent crosslinking toward a stable protein‐based G‐quadruplex‐derived supramolecular bioink. This bioinspired strategy enables the biofabrication of complex and tunable ECM‐mimetic constructs, providing a platform ...

Competition of competition laws

open access: yes, 1989
The situation is succinctly described by Professor Rahl. There are indeed inconsistencies in competition policy, law, and enforcement. One cartel, tolerated or even endorsed by the exporting state, may fall subject to the verdict of the competition law of the importing state.

Effectiveness of Competition Law: A Panel Data Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper explores what macroeconomic factors can tell us about the effectiveness of recently enacted national competition laws. Qualitative evidence suggests that numerous countries fall short in implementing competition law. Furthermore, there seems to

Public EU competition law enforcement in small ‘newer’ Member States: addressing the challenges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The decentralised nature of Regulation 1/2003 meant that all Member States of the EU have an obligation to enforce EU competition law in addition to their domestic equivalent once the criterion of ‘the Effect on Interstate Trade between the Member States’

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.
