Competitive Adsorption of Nonionic Surfactant and Nonionic Polymer on Silica
Langmuir, 2007Competitive adsorption of the nonionic polymer poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and the nonionic surfactant of the type poly(ethylene oxide) alkyl ether from aqueous solutions on a silica surface is examined. From one-component solutions, both species readily adsorb onto silica and, in the bulk of mixed (two-component) solutions, polymer-surfactant complexes

Competitive Adsorption on Diatomaceous Earth Particles
2019 Advances in Science and Engineering Technology International Conferences (ASET), 2019Diatomaceous earth (DE) was modified with octadecyltrimethoxysilane (C18-TMS) in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA) as an acid catalyst. However, in the presence of a non-volitile acid catalyst, the determination of the adsorbed amount of the C18-TMS is complicated.

Oxyanion adsorption and competition at a gold electrode
Electrochimica Acta, 2000Abstract Synchrotron Far Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (SFIRS) has been used to study the adsorption of oxyanions at a gold thin-film electrode. Surface-adsorbate vibrational frequencies of 240 and 255 cm−1 have been measured ‘in-situ’ in acid solutions of 0.5 M HClO4 containing 0.05 M Na2SO4, and Na3PO4, respectively. It was observed that in the

Competitive Adsorption of Lead and Copper by Kaolin
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Due to the potential of kaolin as an adsorbent for removal of heavy metals from solution, the competitive adsorption of Lead (Pb) and Copper (Cu) by kaolin was investigated to provide further understanding on the binding behaviors and capacities of these two metals onto kaolin.

Adsorption of sticky hard spheres: relevance to protein competitive adsorption
Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions, 1992The sticky hard sphere model provides a simple analytic theory of competitive adsorption which may be relevant to the modelling of protein competitive adsorption. Equilibrium monolayer compositions are calculated here for binary mixtures of equal sized molecules as a function of adsorbate concentration and difference in ‘stickiness’ at the adsorbent ...

[Adsorption-desorption and competitive adsorption of arsenic and phosphorus in purple soil].
Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2010A batch incubation test was conducted to study the characteristics of arsenic (As) and phosphorous (P) adsorption-desorption as well as the effects of the competitive adsorption of the two elements on their translocation and activation in three kinds of purple soil, the typical soil in Three Gorges Area. In the test acid, neutral, and calcareous purple
