From the visibility graph (VG) to a complementary visibility graph (CVG) and an image complementary visibility graph (ICVG): Algorithms and applications

open access: yesAIP Advances
A new algorithm for bridging the gap between time series and networks is proposed in this short paper called the complementary visibility graph (CVG). The visibility graphs (VGs) method makes it easy to fulfill complex network topology modeling, which is

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Independent strong domination in complementary prisms

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Graph Theory and Applications, 2020
Let G = (V, E) be a graph and u,v ∈ V. Then, u strongly dominates  v if (i) uv ∈ E  and (ii) deg(u) ≥ deg(v). A set D ⊂ V  is a strong-dominating set of  G  if every vertex in V-D is strongly dominated by at least one vertex in D.

Complementary Graph Entropy, AND Product, and Disjoint Union of Graphs

open access: yes2023 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2023
In the zero-error Slepian-Wolf source coding problem, the optimal rate is given by the complementary graph entropy $\overline{H}$ of the characteristic graph. It has no single-letter formula, except for perfect graphs, for the pentagon graph with uniform distribution $G_5$, and for their disjoint union.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

A Direct Construction of Inter-Group Complementary Code Set

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Complete complementary codes (CCCs) is a collection of mutually orthogonal complementary codes and Inter-group complementary (IGC) code set consists of multiple disjoint groups of 2-D codes.

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Short-Term Wind Power Forecasting via Multimodal Adaptive Graph Neural Networks with Credibility-Modulated Aggregation

open access: yesInformation
Wind power forecasting plays a crucial role in power dispatch and safety management of wind farms. However, the insufficient integration of multimodal heterogeneous data and the limitations of conventional graph construction strategies significantly ...

Minimum eigenvalue of the complement of tricyclic graphs with n-4 pendent vertexes

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2019
In order to discuss the minimum eigenvalue of adjacency matrix in the class of complementary graphs of the tricyclic graph with a given order of n and n-4 pendent vertexes, the unique graph whose minimum eigenvalue reaches the minimum is characterized ...

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.
