Fractal Geometries of Complementary Split-Ring Resonators

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2008
Complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs) are typically used as negative-permittivity particles in microstrip left-handed structures. In this paper, novel CSRRs that use a square Sierpinski fractal curve are proposed and studied in detail. It is shown that the application of fractal geometries results in significant miniaturization of the ...

Microstrip Antenna optimization using split ring and complementary split ring resonator

2016 International Conference on Information Communication and Embedded Systems (ICICES), 2016
Excellent Electromagnetic performance of Microstrip Antenna motivates researchers for its optimization. The manuscript suggests the technique to miniaturize patch antenna using Split Ring Resonator and Thin Wire Metamaterial. The Unit Cell of SRR and TW is inserted below the patch mounted on the air substrate.

A novel millimeter wave super lens using split-ring resonator and complementary split-ring resonator

2009 34th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2009
We report a millimeter wave super lens based on the left-handed metamaterial using split-ring resonator (SRR) and complementary SRR (CSRR). The millimeter wave cannot propagate far away due to short wavelength. Therefore, the system for THz or millimeter wave band demands the lens to obtain strong focused signal from weak waves caused by scattering in ...

Metamaterial transmission lines based on split-ring resonators (SRRs) and complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs)

2010 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2010
Microstrip line periodically loaded with split-ring resonators (SRRs) and complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs) is designed. By utilizing the CSRRs/gaps and SRRs/inductances combinations, two passbands are observed. Because of the negative permeability offered by SRRs and series capacitances, the negative permittivity offered by CSRRs and shunt ...

A Microstrip Highpass Filter with Complementary Split Ring Resonators

PIERS Online, 2007
An accurate equivalent circuit model for the microstrip line with a complementary split ring resonator (CSRR), and the parameter extraction method, are presented. A highpass filter with steep rejection is designed based on the model. The measurement results confirm the efficient analysis and design procedure and the validity of the highpass filter ...

Novel compact single complementary split ring resonator

2009 3rd IEEE International Symposium on Microwave, Antenna, Propagation and EMC Technologies for Wireless Communications, 2009
A novel design of compact single complementary split ring resonator which is realized by loading a pair of narrow slots in the split of the ring is proposed. The equivalent circuit model of the structure is presented and the electrical parameters are also extracted.

Complementary split-ring resonator-based accelerating structure

Journal of Instrumentation, 2013
We describe a novel particle accelerating structure consisting of Complementary Split-Ring Resonators (C-SRRs) etched into the lower and upper walls of a copper rectangular waveguide. Outer cylindrical cavities enclosing the C-SRR sections allow a vacuum to be maintained.

Open Complementary Split-Ring Resonator for Eye Tracking

2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS), 2019
This paper presents a microwave planar sensor for eye tracking. The sensor is implemented using coplanar waveguide (CPW) technology and consists of two identical configurations with a pair of mirror-symmetrical open complementary split-ring resonators in each eye corner.

Complementary split-ring resonator as a high sensitivity sensor

Proceedings of the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
A new sensor based on complementary split-ring resonators (CSRR) is proposed. The sensor can detect sub-millimeter micro-surface cracks effectively. The crack perturbs the electromagnetic field around in the close vicinity of the CSRR gap, thereby causing a shift in the resonance frequency of the CSRR resonator.

Method for characterization of multilayer substrates with complementary split-ring resonators

Review of Scientific Instruments
This paper presents a methodology based on the use of multiple complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) in square form to obtain the relative permittivity of individual layers of a multilayer dielectric sample. The sensor uses CSRRs with different maximum penetration depths to analyze various sections of the sample. The methodology uses the resonant
