Enhancement of Complement Activation and Cytolysis of Human IgG3 by Deletion of Hinge Exons
Scandinavian Journal of Immunology, 1990The capacity to induce complement‐mediated cell lysis is greatly enhanced by truncating the hinge of IgG3 through exon deletions. This was shown by establishing five new cell lines which secreted chimeric IgG3 molecules with specificity for the hapten 4‐hydroxy‐3‐nitrophenacetyl (NP) and having 47,45,32,15, and 0 amino acid hinge regions (the wild‐type

Complementation and characterisation of PCNA deletion mutant of ϕCh1
2018The primary focus of this thesis was to characterise the function of the PCNA protein encoded by the halovirus ϕCh1 which infects the haloalkaliphilic archaeon Natrialba magadii. The PCNA of ϕCh1 has a high amino acid sequence homology to the PCNA encoded by its host N. magadii indicating it has been acquired by horizontal gene transfer.
