Consistency of the total least squares estimator in the linear errors-in-variables regression

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2018
This paper deals with a homoskedastic errors-in-variables linear regression model and properties of the total least squares (TLS) estimator. We partly revise the consistency results for the TLS estimator previously obtained by the author [18]. We present

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

The Complexity of Phylogeny Constraint Satisfaction Problems

open access: yes, 2017
We systematically study the computational complexity of a broad class of computational problems in phylogenetic reconstruction. The class contains for example the rooted triple consistency problem, forbidden subtree problems, the quartet consistency ...

Counting consistent phylogenetic trees is #P-complete

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2004
The paper studies the complexity of counting rooted phylogenetic (super)trees consistent to a set of (possibly overlapping) rooted phylogenetic trees, and shows that it (similarly to two other related problems) is \#P-complete. The proof works through reducing the problem \(\#\)-\texttt{MON-2-SAT} to the problem at hand.

Spatio-Functional Nadaraya–Watson Estimator of the Expectile Shortfall Regression

open access: yesAxioms
The main aim of this paper is to consider a new risk metric that permits taking into account the spatial interactions of data. The considered risk metric explores the spatial tail-expectation of the data.

MAINTAINING OF INTERNAL CONSISTENCY OF ALGEBRAIC BAYESIAN NETWORKS WITH LINEAR AND STELLATE STRUCTURE [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2018
Subject of Research. When working with algebraic Bayesian networks, it is necessary to ensure their correctness in terms of the consistency of the probability estimates of their constituent elements. There are several approaches to automating the ...

Survival Outcomes and Complications Among Canadian Children With Retinoblastoma: A Population‐Based Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

Scalar-on-Function Mode Estimation Using Entropy and Ergodic Properties of Functional Time Series Data

open access: yesEntropy
In this paper, we investigate the recursive L1 estimator of the conditional mode when the input variable takes values in a pseudo-metric space. The new proposed estimator is constructed under an ergodicity assumption, which provides a robust alternative ...

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Analyzing Medication Documentation in Electronic Health Records: Dental Students’ Self-Reported Behaviors and Charting Practices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this two-part study was to assess third- and fourth-year dental students’ perceptions, self-reported behaviors, and actual charting practices regarding medication documentation in axiUm, the electronic health record (EHR) system.
