Explicit estimates for polynomial systems defining irreducible smooth complete intersections [PDF]
This paper deals with properties of the algebraic variety defined as the set of zeros of a “typical” sequence of polynomials. We consider various types of “nice” varieties: set-theoretic and ideal-theoretic complete intersections, absolutely irreducible ...

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

The Lelong number of a complete intersection [PDF]
Let A be an analytic set of pure dimension p in a neighborhood of the origin in Cn, and assume that 0 is a point of A. The Lelong Number of A at 0, denoted by n(0, A), is defined as the limit as r goes to zero of the volume of A in a ball of radius r, center 0, divided by the volume of a p-dimensional linear subspace in such a ball (see [5]).

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

On complete intersections and connectedness [PDF]
Cataloged from PDF version of article.In this thesis, we study the relation between connectedness and complete intersections. We describe the concept of connectedness in codimension k.

Birationally Rigid Complete Intersections of Codimension Three [PDF]
In this work, we study the birational geometry of Fano complete intersections of codimension three. In particular, we establish that they are birational superrigid, given certain regularity conditions.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

On complete intersections containing a linear subspace [PDF]
Consider the Fano scheme $F_k(Y)$ parameterizing $k$--dimensional linear subspaces contained in a complete intersection $Y subset mathbb{P}^m$ of multi--degree $\underline{d} = (d_1, ldots, d_s)$. It is known that, if $t := sum_{i=1}^s inom{d_i +k}{k}

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
