A complete model for oxidation air-lift reactors

Computers and Chemical Engineering, 2001
Abstract A complete model for prediction performance of an oxidation air-lift reactor has been developed. The model includes reaction kinetics, flow configuration, mass transfer and hydrodynamics. Liquid bulk and gas phases are modeled using a cell model. The mass transfer rates are computed from the film model.

The Completely Positive Lifting Problem for C ∗ -algebras

The Annals of Mathematics, 1976
(1.1)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~1 where A, B are C*-algebras (resp., unital C*-algebras), J is a closed twosided ideal in B, 7 is the quotient map, and A, * are contractive (resp., unital) completely positive maps. The lifting problem for q is to determine whether or not one can find * so that the diagram commutes.

Completely Additive Liftings

Bulletin of Symbolic Logic, 1998
The purpose of this communication is to survey a theory of liftings, as developed in author's thesis ([8]). The first result in this area was Shelah's construction of a model of set theory in which every automorphism ofP(ℕ)/ Fin, where Fin is the ideal of finite sets, istrivial, or inother words, it is induced by a function mapping integers into ...

Complete footprint of lifting reentry vehicles

Acta Astronautica, 1990
Abstract In this Note, the optimal 3-dimensional fly-back reentry trajectory for minimum longitudinal range is solved. The maximum lift-to-drag ratio is constrained to a reasonable limit. As compared with the fly-back reentry trajectory in the vertical plane, we found that it gives the global minimum longitudinal range.
