Tuning the mammalian circadian clock: robust synergy of two loops.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2011
The circadian clock is accountable for the regulation of internal rhythms in most living organisms. It allows the anticipation of environmental changes during the day and a better adaptation of physiological processes.

A generation method for completely monotone functions

open access: yesApplicable Analysis and Discrete Mathematics, 2019
In this article we present technique how to produce completely monotone functions using linear functionals and already known families of completely monotone functions. After that, using mean value theorems, we construct means of Cauchy type that have monotonicity properties.

Interconversion Relationships for Completely Monotone Functions

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2014
In linear viscoelasticity, the analytically valid Volterra convolution interconversion relationships between the relaxation modulus $G$ and the corresponding creep compliance (retardation) modulus $J$ play a fundamental role. They allow $J$ to be determined from both theoretical and experimental estimates of $G$ and conversely.

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Complete Monotonicity of Special Functions

open access: yes, 2015
In this work we prove that if an entire function $f(z)$ is of order strictly less than one and it has only negative zeros, then for each nonnegative integer $k,m$ the real function $\left(-\frac{1}{x}\right)^{m}\frac{d^{k}}{dx^{k}}\left(x^{k+m}\frac{d^{m}}{dx^{m}}\left(\frac{f'(x)}{f(x)}\right)\right)$ is completely monotonic on $(0,\infty ...

Enhanced Li‐Ion Battery Performance with Hybrid MXene/GnR Electrodes: Heterojunctions and Engineered Architectures Supported by DFT Mechanistic Studies for Improved Rate Performance, Stability & Capacity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) remain central to energy storage but suffer from slow ion transport and degradation. Here, we present a binder‐free Ti3C2Tx MXene/GnR hybrid electrode with a porous 3D architecture formed via freeze casting. The structure enhances conductivity, ion transport, and stability, delivering 401 mAh/g, ∼97% efficiency, and 92 ...

Global stability of stage-structured single species model on with Beverton–Holt birth function

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering
Our article discusses a Cauchy problem of a single species model with stage structure and Beverton–Holt birth function. The global stability of the Cauchy problem is completely surveyed by using the global stability of the corresponding elliptic system ...

Tough Injectable Hydrogels Enabled by Integrating Rigid Homogeneous Framework With Flexible Chains

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tough injectable hydrogels are constructed by integrating a rigid, homogeneous hyaluronic acid framework with flexible long‐chain connectors. This framework–flexible structure simultaneously enhances network uniformity and promotes effective energy dissipation by enlarging plastic deformation zones under compression.

Six-wave interaction in multimode waveguides with Kerr nonlinearity with allowance for the Gaussian structure of pump waves

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
The quality of wavefront conjugation in the case of six-wave interaction in two-dimensional multimode waveguides with Kerr nonlinearity is analyzed under the condition that one of the pump waves excites a zero waveguide mode and the amplitude ...

Statistically Resolving Thickness‐Dependent Electrical Characteristics in Multilayer‐MoS2 Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A large number of MoS2 flakes were screened to obtain high‐quality flakes based on optical intensities in R, G, and B channel images. The flakes were classified from Level 1 to 6 based on optical intensities in the R, G, and B channel images. Low‐quality flake exhibited wrinkled, folded, or overlapped features, while high‐quality displayed a neat ...
