Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

A generation method for completely monotone functions

open access: yesApplicable Analysis and Discrete Mathematics, 2019
In this article we present technique how to produce completely monotone functions using linear functionals and already known families of completely monotone functions. After that, using mean value theorems, we construct means of Cauchy type that have monotonicity properties.

A Completely Monotonic Function Involving Divided Difference of Psi Function and an Equivalent Inequality Involving Sum

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, a function involving the divided difference of the psi function is proved to be completely monotonic, a class of inequalities involving sum are founded, and an equivalent relation between the complete monotonicity and one of the class ...

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Exponential sum approximations of finite completely monotonic functions

open access: yes, 2023
Bernstein's theorem (also called Hausdorff--Bernstein--Widder theorem) enables the integral representation of a completely monotonic function. We introduce a finite completely monotonic function, which is a completely monotonic function with a finite ...

Defect Evolution and Mechanical Performance of Fused Filament Fabrication‐Manufactured 17‐4PH Stainless Steel Revealed by X‐Ray Computed Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

Wendel-Gautschi-Kershaw's Inequalities and Sufficient and Necessary Conditions that a Class of Functions Involving Ratio of Gamma Functions are Logarithmically Completely Monotonic

open access: yes, 2007
In the article, sufficient and necessary conditions that a class of functions involving ratio of Euler’s gamma functions and originating from Wendel-Gautschi-Kershaw’s double inequalities are logarithmically completely monotonic are presented.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.
