Power tests of a string of magnets comprising a full cell of the Superconducting Super Collider [PDF]
In this paper we describe the operation and testing of a string of magnets comprising a full cell of the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC). The full cell configuration composed of ten dipoles, two quadrupoles, and three spool pieces is the longest SSC

Approximation and Parameterized Complexity of Minimax Approval Voting
We present three results on the complexity of Minimax Approval Voting. First, we study Minimax Approval Voting parameterized by the Hamming distance $d$ from the solution to the votes. We show Minimax Approval Voting admits no algorithm running in time $\

TreeSpider: In‐Canopy Exploration With Tether‐Based Aerial Modular Arms
A tethered drone with perching arms and a 360° ring enables unprecedented maneuverability within dense forest canopies. By dynamically adjusting tether length and decoupling pitch from the frame, it navigates between branches, senses multiple trees, and interacts physically with foliage.

Complete and Consistent Non-Minimal String Corrections to Supergravity
We give a complete and consistent solution to string corrected (deformed), D=10, N=1 supergravity as the non-minimal low energy limit of string theory. We solve the Bianchi identities with suitable constraints to second order in the string slope parameter.

Super-renormalizable or finite completion of the Starobinsky theory
The recent Planck data of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature anisotropies support the Starobinsky theory in which the quadratic Ricci scalar drives cosmic inflation.

A miniaturized soft optical sensor that uses thin film color tuning enables real‐time 3D shape‐sensing from a single red–green–blue (RGB) signal. When integrated into a soft robot, it enables closed‐loop control and autonomous navigation in a phantom lung environment without the need for onboard electronics, achieving sub‐millimeter accuracy through ...
