Complex arrhythmia analysis in uraemic haemodialysed patients

International Urology and Nephrology, 1984
Impulse formation and conduction disturbances of the heart were investigated in 23 uraemic patients with transvenous and oesophageal electrodes. Utilizing regular atrial pacing the sinoatrial conduction time (SACT) was obtained and sinus automaticity was evaluated by measurement of the sinus node recovery time (SNRT).

Evaluation of metoprolol in suppressing complex ventricular arrhythmias

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1983
This study documents the extent of suppression of premature ventricular beats which can be achieved with metoprolol, a semiselective beta-adrenergic blocking agent, at doses of 100 to 200 mg daily, utilizing a single-blind placebo-controlled 10-day protocol with continuous ambulatory electrocardiographic recording of 20 patients with cardiac disease ...

Introduction: Mapping and control of complex cardiac arrhythmias

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2002
This paper serves as an introduction to the Focus Issue on mapping and control of complex cardiac arrhythmias. We first introduce basic concepts of cardiac electrophysiology and describe the main clinical methods being used to treat arrhythmia. We then provide a brief summary of the main themes contained in the articles in this Focus Issue.

Suppression of complex ventricular arrhythmias by oral flecainide

Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1982
The effectiveness and safety of oral flecainide for suppression of complex ventricular arrhythmias was tested in nine patients in a short-term (4 wk), single-blind, placebo-controlled experiment. The prevalence of multiform premature ventricular complexes (PVCs), couplets and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia (VT) (less than 3 PVCs at rate less than

Advances in the Approaches to Ablation of Complex Arrhythmias

Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2006
A complex arrhythmia is one where successful ablation represents a serious challenge to the treating physician, and in this situation an advanced solution such as the combination of imaging with mapping and the ability to deliver a newer energy form using remote navigation may be a combined option some may wish was presently available.

Complex ventricular arrhythmias: a therapeutic nightmare

Heart, 2010
The ventricular tachycardia (VT) catheter ablation procedure has evolved substantially in recent years. Progress in the field permits effective treatment of complex ventricular arrhythmias previously not amenable to catheter ablation. Catheter ablation is now indicated for many patients with multiple VT morphologies, non-tolerated and non-sustained ...
