Some Theorems on the Unimodular Complex Degree of Optical Coherence
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1966The complex degree of coherence γ(r1, r2, t1 − t2) of a stationary optical field is defined as the normalized cross-correlation function (|γ| ≤ 1) of the light disturbances at two space-time points (r1, t1), (r2, t2), the disturbances being represented by means of Gabor's analytic signals.

Retrieving the complex degree of spatial coherence of electron beams
Optik, 2008Abstract The possibility to characterize the coherence properties of an electron source is presented. The method, based on the determination of centered-reduced moments of the beam spot, allows the evaluation of both amplitude and phase of the complex degree of spatial coherence.

A wave-front-folded interferometer composed of a Kösters prism and an image-forming lens provides a good way of measuring the complex degree of spectral coherence. Demonstrative experiments are implemented by incorporation of uncorrelated two-point spectral sources in the primary-source plane; these sources establish a spatially partially coherent wave

A problem of interferometers is the elimination of parasitic reflections. Parasitic reflections and modulated intensity signals, which are not related to the reference surface (REF) or the surface under test (SUT) in a direct way, can increase the measurement uncertainty significantly.

Full retrieving of the complex degree of spatial coherence: theoretical analysis
Optics Communications, 2003A procedure for the retrieval of both the modulus and phase of the complex degree of spatial coherence of Schell-model beams is theoretically discussed. It can recover two-dimensional degrees based upon a set of one-dimensional measurements. In order to illustrate this idea, some graphical matter of considering idealised system in the recovering ...

A proposal for the determination of the complex degree of coherence for isoplanatic imaging
Optics Communications, 1976Abstract A procedure is proposed for the determination of the complex degree of coherence of the illumination in the object plane of a microscope. This quantity is important for the reconstruction of objects from their images, a problem which occurs in particular in electron microscopy.

Complex degree of spatial coherence in an optical fiber: theory and experiment
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1986The modulus and the phase of the complex degree of spatial coherence at the exit face of a coherently excited optical fiber have been analyzed, taking into account interference between modes. The pointwise correlation between two axially symmetrical points across the fiber core exhibits an undulating behavior, varying with longitudinal coordinate as ...

Measurements of complex degree of spatial coherence at the end face of an optical fiber
Optics Communications, 1982Abstract The phase and modulus of the complex degree of spatial coherence at the exit end face of an optical fiber are measured with the help of a real-time data processing computer. Interference fringes produced by superimposing wavefronts of the image of the end cross-section are scanned by a linear photodiode array to calculate the one dimensional

Correlation-induced spectral changes in two-beam interference experiments in the space-frequency domain are used to determine the ampli- tude and phase of the complex degree of spectral coherence. The spectral modie cations are observed either as a shift in the peak wavelength or as sinusoidal modulations within the bandwidth of the white light ...
