Eigenvalues of complex tridiagonal matrices [PDF]
Results of Arscott (1) and Jayne (3) on real matrices are generalized to obtain bounds for the real parts of the eigenvalues of certain complex tridiagonal matrices, and bounds for the imaginary parts of the eigenvalues of other tridiagonal matrices are given.

Eigenvalue Estimates for Schrödinger Operators with Complex Potentials [PDF]
The authors consider non-selfadjoint Schrödinger operators \(H=-\Delta+V(x)\) in \(L^2({\mathbb R}^d)\) with complex-valued potential \(V\). The main results concern estimates of the sum of powers of the imaginary parts of eigenvalues \(\lambda_j\) of the operator \(H\). For a flavor of the results we state the following inequalities.

A spin group (SG)‐based mechanism is proposed to realize a single pair of Weyl points. PT‐symmetric nodal lines (NLs) persist under T‐breaking, protected by the combination of SG and P symmetry. When considering spin‐orbit coupling, the SG‐protected NL will split into Weyl points, which will also induce anomalous transport phenomena arising from ...

A Geršgorin-type eigenvalue localization set with n parameters for stochastic matrices
A set in the complex plane which involves n parameters in [0, 1] is given to localize all eigenvalues different from 1 for stochastic matrices. As an application of this set, an upper bound for the moduli of the subdominant eigenvalues of a stochastic ...

A miniaturized mechano‐acoustic sensor is developed using an electrospun PVDF nanomesh as the diaphragm in a capacitive sensor structure. Unlike conventional nanomesh‐based sensors, it achieves high linear sensitivity, a broad and flat frequency response, and a compact form factor.

On eigenvalues of third order composite type equations with regular boundary value conditions
In the paper the question about distribution of eigenvalues of third - order composite type equations with regular, more precisely, with periodic boundary value conditions is studied.

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...

On the Use of Low-Order Riccati-Equations in the Design of a Class of Feedback Controllers and State Estimators [PDF]
This paper describes a method for designing optimal feedback controllers with stability requirements using low-order Riccati equations. For originally stable systems the Riccati equation will be of first or second order, depending upon whether the ...

Eigenvalue localization for complex matrices
In this paper, we prove that all the eigenvalues ?i of a complex matrix A of order n lie in a disk with center at trA/n and radius This radius can be bounded without knowing the eigenvalues of A.

Nonlocal Conduction in a Metawire
A 1D metawire composed of twisted copper wires is designed and realized. This metamaterial exhibits pronounced effects of nonlocal electric conduction according to Ohm's law. The current at one location not only depends on the electric field at that location but also on other locations.
