Complex trajectories in a classical periodic potential [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2012
This paper examines the complex trajectories of a classical particle in the potential V(x)=-cos(x). Almost all the trajectories describe a particle that hops from one well to another in an erratic fashion. However, it is shown analytically that there are two special classes of trajectories x(t) determined only by the energy of the particle and not by ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural and functional studies of mitochondrial NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I)

open access: yes, 2010
NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I) is the largest and most complicated enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transfer chain. It catalyses the oxidation of NADH and the reduction of ubiquinone, coupled to the translocation of protons across the ...

Features of innovative development of agriculture in the northern region (on the example of agrarian-and-industrial complex of the Komi Republic)

open access: yesАграрная наука Евро-Северо-Востока, 2016
Agriculture of the Republic of Komi is quite a contrast. It varies geographically: in terms of technological development, the volume of production and willingness to innovate.

Study of Electron and Positron Elastic Scattering from Hydrogen Sulphide Using Analytically Obtained Static Potential

open access: yesAtoms, 2020
A detailed study of elastic scattering of electrons and positrons from a hydrogen sulphide (H2S) molecule is presented using the method of partial wave phase shift analysis with suitably chosen complex optical potentials.

Isoresonant Complex-valued Potentials and Symmetries [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Mathematics, 2011
Abstract Let X be a connected Riemannian manifold such that the resolvent of the free Laplacian , has a meromorphic continuation through . The poles of this continuation are called resonances. When X has some symmetries, we construct complex-valued potentials, V, such that the resolvent of, which has also ameromorphic continuation, has the same ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Prolonged ketamine infusion as a therapy for complex regional pain syndrome:Synergism with antagonism? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) remains a troubling and often refractory pain condition for which the existing treatments are inadequate. The review by Niesters et al in this journal highlights the interesting findings of several recent studies of ...
