Accessing thermal conductivity of complex compounds by machine learning interatomic potentials

Physical review B, 2019
While lattice thermal conductivity is an important parameter for many technological applications, its calculation is a time-consuming task, especially for compounds with a complex crystal structure.

Orbital complexity in a time‐dependent potential

Astronomische Nachrichten, 2008
AbstractWe introduce a method to detect irregular or chaotic orbits in gravitational potentials based on a wavelet transform of stellar orbits. The method is based on a treatment of normalised frequency power‐spectrum coefficients, which we interpret as occupation probabilities (or, weights) of individual frequency modes.

Potential Carcinostatic Activity of Metal Complexes

1978
For several years, there has been considerable controversy about the question of whether certain forms of cancer in humans are caused by viruses. Luria(1) indicated in 1960 that there was already considerable evidence that many tumors have viruses associated with them. In 1966, Kirschner et al.(2) proposed that certain complexes of the heavy transition

Biotechnological potential of pectinolytic complexes of fungi

Biotechnology Letters, 2011
Plant cell wall-degrading enzymes, such as cellulases, hemicellulases and pectinases, have been extensively studied because of their well documented biotechnological potential, mainly in the food industry. In particular, lytic enzymes from filamentous fungi have been the subject of a vast number of studies due both to their advantages as models for ...

Understanding complex perturbative effective potentials

Physical Review D, 1987
We examine the situation where the perturbatively calculated effective potential develops an imaginary part. We show that his imaginary part has a natural interpretation as a decay rate per unit volume of a well-defined state and that it agrees quantitatively with an independent calculation of this rate.

Streamfunction and Complex Potential

2007
The streamfunction is another mathematical construct that is of high importance for models using analytical solutions. Together with the potential the streamfunction enables the visualization of flow patterns that can hardly be produced by other methods.

Aminophosphonate Metal Complexes of Biomedical Potential

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2013
Metals and their complexes with organic ligands have an important role in biochemical systems such as enzymatic catalysis, metal ion transfer across the cell membranes, treatment of malignancy, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcer and other types of diseases. Special attention is directed to metal complexes with ligands which are important in biological systems,

Complex Angular Momenta in Potential Scattering

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1962
The S matrix associated with a central potential is shown to be meromorphic in the energy and angular momentum variables under very broad conditions. The domain of meromorphy contains the product of a domain in the energy variable by a domain in the angular variable.
