The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Harmonic Analysis on Quantum Complex Hyperbolic Spaces

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2011
In this paper we obtain some results of harmonic analysis on quantum complex hyperbolic spaces. We introduce a quantum analog for the Laplace-Beltrami operator and its radial part.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Trapezoid Orthogonality in Complex Normed Linear Spaces

open access: yesMathematics
Let Gp(x,y,z)=∥x+y+z∥p+∥z∥p−∥x+z∥p−∥y+z∥p be defined on a normed space X. The special case G2(x,y,z)=0,∀z∈X, where X is a real normed linear space, coincides with the trapezoid orthogonality (T-orthogonality), which was originally proposed by Alsina et ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Certain Sequence Spaces over the Non-Newtonian Complex Field

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
It is known from functional analysis that in classical calculus, the sets , , , and of all bounded, convergent, null and -absolutely summable sequences are Banach spaces with their natural norms and they are complete according to the metric reduced ...

On Wardowski-Type Contractions on Complex-Valued Metric Spaces and Application to Fractional Integral Equations [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis
In this work, we introduce  Wardowski-type admissible contractions on complex valued metric spaces  and prove existence of fixed points for such mappings.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

A Complex Structure for Two-Typed Tangent Spaces

open access: yesEntropy
This study concerns Riemannian manifolds with two types of tangent vectors. Let it be given that there are two subspaces of a tangent space with the property that each tangent vector has a unique decomposition as the sum of a vector in one subspace and a
