Measuring Significance of Community Structure in Complex Networks
Many complex systems can be represented as networks and separating a network into communities could simplify the functional analysis considerably. Recently, many approaches have been proposed for finding communities, but none of them can evaluate the ...

On the structure of valiant's complexity classes [PDF]
In Valiant developed an algebraic analogue of the theory of NP-completeness for computations of polynomials over a field. We further develop this theory in the spirit of structural complexity and obtain analogues of well-known results by Baker, Gill, and Solovay, Ladner, and Schöning.\par We show that if Valiant's hypothesis is true, then there is a p ...

STABILITY OF ABELIAN COMPLEX STRUCTURES [PDF]
Let M = Γ\G be a nilmanifold endowed with an invariant complex structure. We prove that Kuranishi deformations of abelian complex structures are all invariant complex structures, generalizing a result in [7] for 2-step nilmanifolds. We characterize small deformations that remain abelian.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

In this paper, an efficient hybrid reliability analysis (HRA) method and a hybrid reliability-based design optimization (HRBDO) approach are proposed for realistic complex engineering structures with random and interval uncertainties.

This is a survey of the theory of complex projective (CP^1) structures on compact surfaces. After some preliminary discussion and definitions, we concentrate on three main topics: (1) Using the Schwarzian derivative to parameterize the moduli space (2) Thurston's parameterization of the moduli space using grafting (3) Holonomy representations of CP^1 ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Complex Moduli of Physical Quanta
Classical mechanics can be formulated using a symplectic structure on classical phase space, while quantum mechanics requires a complex-differentiable structure on that same space.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
