An Adaptive Kriging-Based Fourth-Moment Reliability Analysis Method for Engineering Structures

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The fourth-moment method can accurately perform a reliability analysis when it is challenging to determine the distribution of the random variable due to limited available samples.

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

Multi-Dimensional Analytic Functions for Laplace Equations and Generalized Cauchy–Riemann Equations

open access: yesMathematics
A new concept of projective solution is introduced for the multi-dimensional Laplace equations. We project the field point onto a characteristic vector to obtain a projective variable, which can be used to reduce the Laplace equations to a second-order ...

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Reconstructing non-equilibrium regimes of quantum many-body systems from the analytical structure of perturbative expansions

open access: yes, 2019
We propose a systematic approach to the non-equilibrium dynamics of strongly interacting many-body quantum systems, building upon the standard perturbative expansion in the Coulomb interaction.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Derivation and application of an analytical rock displacement solution on rectangular cavern wall using the inverse mapping method. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Rectangular caverns are increasingly used in underground engineering projects, the failure mechanism of rectangular cavern wall rock is significantly different as a result of the cross-sectional shape and variations in wall stress distributions. However,

Psychological Safety Among Interprofessional Pediatric Oncology Teams in Germany: A Nationwide Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.
