Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

Complex Modified Projective Synchronization of Fractional-Order Complex-Variable Chaotic System with Unknown Complex Parameters

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
This paper investigates the problem of complex modified projective synchronization (CMPS) of fractional-order complex-variable chaotic systems (FOCCS) with unknown complex parameters. By a complex-variable inequality and a stability theory for fractional-

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Pinning Synchronization for Complex Networks with Interval Coupling Delay by Variable Subintervals Method and Finsler’s Lemma

open access: yesComplexity, 2017
The pinning synchronous problem for complex networks with interval delays is studied in this paper. First, by using an inequality which is introduced from Newton-Leibniz formula, a new synchronization criterion is derived.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Robust stabilization for a class of complex production process systems based on multi-dimensional moving pattern

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2023
This paper studies robust stabilization problem and state feedback controller design problem for a class of complex production process systems by pattern class variable instead of state variable or output variable. Firstly, the maximum entropy clustering

Coexistence and Phase Separation in Sheared Complex Fluids

open access: yes, 1997
We demonstrate how to construct dynamic phase diagrams for complex fluids that undergo transitions under flow, in which the conserved composition variable and the broken-symmetry order parameter (nematic, smectic, crystalline, etc.) are coupled to shear ...

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Variable Step Size Solution of Standard Parabolic Equation in Complex Environment

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2019
Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to balance the accuracy and velocity of the fixed-step solution of standard parabolic equation in the study of radio wave propagation in a wide range of complex environments, a variable-step solution method of ...
