Morse-Novikov critical point theory, Cohn localization and Dirichlet units

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper we construct a Universal chain complex, counting zeros of closed 1-forms on a manifold. The Universal complex is a refinement of the well known Novikov complex; it relates the homotopy type of the manifold, after a suitable noncommutative ...

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Antibiofilm activity of a chionodracine‐derived peptide by NMR‐based metabolomics of cell‐free supernatant of Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Fisher's zeros as boundary of renormalization group flows in complex coupling spaces

open access: yes, 2010
We propose new methods to extend the renormalization group transformation to complex coupling spaces. We argue that the Fisher's zeros are located at the boundary of the complex basin of attraction of infra-red fixed points.

Enhancing Oncological Care for India's Aging Population: Addressing the Complex Needs of Older Adults With Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Aging‐associated physiological and molecular alterations pose significant challenges in cancer management among India's elderly. Limited geriatric oncology expertise, financial constraints, and inadequate specialized care exacerbate disparities. Strategic expansion of insurance coverage, integration of palliative care, and infrastructural advancements ...

On zeros and growth of solutions of complex difference equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
Let f be an entire function of finite order, let n ≥ 1 $n\geq 1$ , m ≥ 1 $m\geq 1$ , L ( z , f ) ≢ 0 $L(z,f)\not \equiv 0$ be a linear difference polynomial of f with small meromorphic coefficients, and P d ( z , f ) ≢ 0 $P_{d}(z,f)\not \equiv 0$ be a ...

Zeros of the Jones Polynomial are Dense in the Complex Plane [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2010
In this paper, we present a formula for computing the Tutte polynomial of the signed graph formed from a labeled graph by edge replacements in terms of the chain polynomial of the labeled graph. Then we define a family of 'ring of tangles' links and consider zeros of their Jones polynomials.

Predicting and Comparing the Subjective Health Experience of Older Cancer Survivors and Non‐Cancer Survivors: A Modeling Approach

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This study underscores the significant influence of frailty and vitality on the subjective health experience of older cancer survivors with acceptance and control emerging as salient mediators. These findings affirm the conceptual and empirical robustness of the model highlighting its potential utility in shaping future interventions for older cancer ...
