Properties of the complexity function for finite words

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2004
The subword complexity function \(p_{w}\) of a finite word \(w\) over a finite alphabet \(A\) with \(\operatorname*{card}A=q\geq1\) is defined by \(p_{w}(n)=\operatorname*{card}(F(w)\cap A^{n})\) for \(n\in\mathbb{N},\) where \(F(w)\) represents the set ...

Multilayer Soft Photonic Arrays Inspired by Cephalopod Skin for High‐Density, Independent, and Multimodal Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A vertically stacked, DEA‐driven photonic array inspired by cephalopod skin, featuring highly crystalline colloidal crystal gels with vivid color, low FWHM and scalability is presented. The multilayer design removes lateral pixel interference, achieving near‐100% fill factor with fully independent RGB actuation.

Robust and Reversible Thermofluorescence in Solvent‐Free Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermofluorescent polymer composites with high‐contrast optical outputs are prepared by solvent‐free blending of indenoquinacridone dye into a thermoplastic polyurethane matrix. The temperature‐dependent fluorescence originates from aggregation–dissociation of the dye molecules, regulated by competing hydrogen bonds from the polymer matrix.

ZCLS: A Lifecycle Strategy for Efficient ZK-Rollup Circuit Optimization in Circom

open access: yesIEEE Access
Scalability remains a key challenge for layer 1 blockchains. ZK-Rollups, leveraging zero-knowledge proofs, offer a promising layer 2 solution by improving throughput and reducing costs while preserving security.

Operando Temperature Sensing at the Actual Electrocatalytic Interface by Nanodiamond Quantum Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By integrating a wide‐field microscope with a custom‐designed electrolyzer, nanoscale temperature changes can be recorded in situ during the electrolysis process without interfering with ongoing electrochemical reactions. This method establishes a correlation between the interface temperature and specific electrochemical reactions, making the measured ...

Application of Non-Sparse Manifold Regularized Multiple Kernel Classifier

open access: yesMathematics
Non-sparse multiple kernel learning is efficient but not directly able to be applied in a semi-supervised scenario; therefore, we extend it to semi-supervised learning by using a manifold regularization.

Rational Device Design and Doping‐Controlled Performance in Fast‐Response π‐Ion Gel Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
π‐Ion gel transistors (PIGTs) achieve extraordinary transconductance and stability through device configuration optimization, high‐mobility conjugated polymer selection, and hole scavenger doping. The optimized PIGTs maintain performance on flexible substrates, enabling printed, fast‐response, and wearable electronics.

Exploring the Six Worlds of Gröbner Basis Cryptanalysis: Application to Anemoi

open access: yesIACR Transactions on Symmetric Cryptology
Gröbner basis cryptanalysis of hash functions and ciphers, and their underlying permutations, has seen renewed interest recently. Anemoi (Crypto’23) is a permutation-based hash function that is efficient for a variety of arithmetizations used in zero ...
