Evaluation of dosimetric and spatial accuracy of a virtual cone technique for radiosurgery using linac‐integrated CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the dosimetric and geometric precision of a virtual cone technique using CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry, enabling radiation delivery, and imaging readout within an identical spatial coordinate system. Methods We created a C# script for a virtual cone technique that generates a treatment plan with 10 gantry arcs ...

Digital Light Processing of 2D Lattice Composites for Tunable Self‐Sensing and Mechanical Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView., 2023
The study presents the mechanical and in situ sensing performance of digital light processing‐enabled 2D lattice nanocomposites under monotonic tensile and repeated cyclic loading, and provides guidelines for the design of architectures suitable for strain sensors and smart lightweight structures.

Missed foreign bodies in the hand: an experience from a center in Kashmir

open access: yesLibyan Journal of Medicine, 2010
Introduction: Penetrating hand injuries are common and improper assessment can result in missed foreign bodies. These bodies can result in a wide range of complications. Aim: The aim of our study was to study the profile of patients reporting with missed

A sufficiently complicated noded Schottky group of rank three [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
The theoretical existence of non-classical Schottky groups is due to Marden. Explicit examples of such kind of groups are only known in rank two, the first one by by Yamamoto in 1991 and later by Williams in 2009. In 2006, Maskit and the author provided a theoretical method to obtain examples of non-classical Schottky groups in any rank.

Design and validation of a novel dosimetry phantom for motion management audits

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background We present a novel phantom design for conducting end‐to‐end dosimetry audits for respiratory motion management of two anatomical treatment sites. The design enables radiochromic film measurements of the dose administered to the target throughout the respiratory cycle (motion‐included) and the dose delivered to the time‐averaged ...

Abdominal intercostal hernia: a rare complication after blunt trauma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Abdominal intercostal hernia (AIH) is uncommonly reported in the literature with only 20 cases reported to date.1–3 We report a case of a delayed incarcerated AIH secondary to blunt trauma from a motor vehicle accident in which the colon and diaphragm ...
