Cytotoxic effects of extracts of compomers

Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 1999
We have studied the cytotoxicity of 10 commercially available compomers. Extracts were taken in cell culture medium of non-cured, freshly-cured, and aged samples. Murine L-929 fibroblasts were exposed to the extracts for 24 h and the cytotoxicity was evaluated using dimethylthiazol diphenyltetrazolium (MTT) assay and neutral red uptake (NRU).

Compomers: between glass-ionomer cements and composites

Biomaterials, 1998
The term 'compomer' was crafted by the producers of the first commercial material of this kind: a polyacid-modified composite resin, sold as a filling material for some specific applications. This term should recall the composite resins and glass-ionomer cements, since some features of these two generic materials are found in the compomers.

The effect of 30% hydrogen peroxide on the color of compomers

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B, 2003
AbstractThe interaction between bleaching agents and recently introduced compomers has several issues that need to be explored, including morphology and mechanical properties. To investigate the effect of 30% hydrogen peroxide, a bleaching agent, on the color of compomers, three compomers (Compoglass F, Elan, and F2000) were polymerized, bleached up to
