[Amalgam, composite and compomer: microbiological study].
Odonto-stomatologie tropicale = Tropical dental journal, 2012Restorative materials have different consequences on the periodontium. The surface of these materials may influence gingival health and cause in some instances gingival inflammation. The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare, in a healthy periodontium, intracrevicular plaque bacteria (Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Porphyromonas ...

Fracture resistance of compomer and composite restoratives.
Operative dentistry, 2004This study evaluated and compared the fracture toughness of compomers and composites. Three compomer (Compoglass F [CG], Vivadent; F2000 [FT], 3M-ESPE; Dyract Posterior [DP], Dentsply) and three composite (Tetric Ceram [TC], Vivadent; Z250 [ZT], 3M-ESPE; Esthet X [EX], Dentsply) restoratives were selected for the study.

Adhesion of a compomer to dental structures.
Quintessence international (Berlin, Germany : 1985), 1998The objective of this study was to evaluate the bond strength of a compomer to dental enamel, dentin, and cementum. Flat surfaces of these tissues were obtained from recently extracted human teeth. The different substrates were either treated with PSA (a primer and adhesive) or acid etched (35% phosphoric acid gel) and treated with PSA.

Simplified adhesion of compomers in pediatric dentistry.
Quintessence international (Berlin, Germany : 1985), 2001A self-etching adhesive agent for bonding polyacid-modified resin-based composite materials ("compomers") to enamel and dentin is now available. The Prompt L-Pop system simplifies and hastens dental bonding procedures and has proved itself useful in many adhesive dentistry applications.

Shear peel bond strength of compomers veneered to amalgam
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2001The practice of veneering compomers to amalgam restorations has not been studied. This in vitro study was designed to assess the shear peel bond strength and fracture pattern of 3 currently available compomers veneered to amalgam.Sixty cylindrical preparations were filled with amalgam.

Compomers, reattachment method expand restoration capabilities.
Journal (Indiana Dental Association), 1999The purpose of this article is to review one new material and one new technique being used in restorative dentistry today. Compomers, new fluoride-releasing resin restorative materials, are compared to conventional glass ionomers in terms of classification, physical properties, and clinical usage.
