Evaluation of Streptococcus mutans biofilm formation on fluoride-releasing materials used as pit and fissure sealants. [PDF]
Abstract This in vitro study evaluated fluoride release and Streptococcus mutans biofilm formation on four types of dental sealants: a giomer, resin‐modified glass ionomer, compomer, and a fluoride‐free composite (control). Discs were prepared as per the manufacturers’ instructions, and they were placed in tubes containing ultrapure water.

Dental Amalgam Phase-Down-Status, Alternatives, Strategies and Preparedness for Implementation: A Review. [PDF]
Background: Nearly a decade since the Minamata Convention on Mercury, the progress on the phase‐down of dental amalgam is unclear. Regional and national governments were tasked to develop guidelines and phase‐down plans because of variations in oral health statuses and usage of restorative materials.

Bond strength of resin-based restorative materials to fast-setting calcium silicate cement using different resin adhesive systems. [PDF]
Abstract This study assessed the bond strength of resin‐based restorative materials to fast‐setting calcium silicate cement (Aarhus Uinversity, Denmark) when treated with each of two one‐bottle universal adhesive systems. The cement surface (N = 256) was treated with a self‐priming adhesive and a self‐etch phosphate monomer‐containing adhesive with and

Anterior tooth autotransplantation: a case series
Abstract Tooth autotransplantation is the technique of transplanting embedded, impacted or erupted teeth from one site into another in the same individual. It is relatively common for the anterior segment of the mouth to be affected by traumatic tooth injuries, impacted and/or congenitally missing permanent teeth.

ABSTRACT Aims This systematic review aimed to compare the efficiency of orifice barriers in preventing coronal microleakage in vitro. Methods Articles published in English, German and Chinese were searched for studies describing microleakage assays for the bacterial penetration of root canal‐treated teeth in vitro. The final sample included 18 articles

Abstract Introduction Dentists' knowledge and expertise, especially in their early career, are primarily shaped during undergraduate studies. This cross‐sectional study aimed to assess the knowledge and perception of Syrian under‐ and postgraduate students regarding diagnosing and managing molar‐incisor hypomineralisation (MIH)‐affected teeth ...

Background. Resin‐modified glass ionomer cements (RMGICs) are characterized by their ability to chemically bond with the tooth structure and their fluoride release, making them commonly used to retain indirect restorations. However, inferior mechanical properties and solubility (SO) are their main drawbacks compared to the most recent resin‐based ...

Objectives. One of the important features of the restorative materials is the ability to seal and prevent the microleakage. Glass ionomer cement (GIC) still exhibits some microleakage despite establishing a chemical bond to the tooth. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nanographene oxide (nGO) on the microleakage of conventional (CGIC)

Dental Caries and Its Management
Objectives. In recent years, the management of dental caries has evolved significantly. Caries prevention, early detection, and a diagnosis based on risk indicators and risk factor assessments are the most current practical approaches. Furthermore, as proposed in minimally invasive dentistry, the new management approaches preserve healthy tissue and ...
