In this paper we study the coefficients of the powers of an ordinary generating function and their properties. A new class of functions based on compositions of an integer $n$ is introduced and is termed composita. We present theorems about compositae and operations with compositae.

Simulation of Inhomogeneous Refractive Index Fields Induced by Hot Tailored Forming Components
This article presents a simulation model for simulating inhomogeneous refractive index fields (IRIF) in hot‐forged components, accounting for thermal influences and complex geometries. Through this simulation, a priori knowledge about the propagation of the IRIF can be obtained, allowing for the positioning of the component or an optical measurement ...

Rusts on Compositae from Mexico [PDF]
THE following enumeration of two hundred collections of Mexican rusts on Compositae comprises part of Mr. E. W. D. HOLWAY'S material obtained on his several trips into Mexico, not heretofore published; together with two specimens collected by C. G. PRINGLE, communicated by Mr. HOLWAY; two by ROSE and PAINTER, communicated by Dr. J. N. ROSE; one by E. W.

Incorporating nanosized silver into titanium for antimicrobial materials exploits the metastable miscibility gap between silver and titanium. Silver nanoparticles are synthesized via pulsed laser ablation in liquid. Silver addition refines the microstructure, increases hardness by 30%, and reduces Staphylococcus capitis microbial adhesion by 70%, with ...

Maillard Type Reaction for Electroless Copper Plating onto Ceramic Nanoparticles
This work presents the manufacturing of copper‐plated ceramic nanoparticles in an environmentally friendly way. Supported by organic functionalizations with pectin an electroless plating step can be performed. Sustainable reagents like xylose, and several amino acids are used for the reduction process.

A hybrid system for de‐icing made of gradient polymer coatings, deposited on aluminum coupled with an electromechanical system, is demonstrated as an effective and durable strategy for reducing drastically ice adhesion. The system is capable of detaching ice blocks over the coating in less than 1 s, regardless of the ice type and covered area ...
