Dimensional instability of cement bonded particleboard: Modelling CBPB as a composite of two materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Copyright @ Springer Verlag. This is a post print version of the article. The official published version can be obtained from the link below.Previous papers have quantitatively indicated that the total movement of cement bonded particleboard (CBPB) is ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

New thermal insulation fiberboards from cake generated during biorefinery of sunflower whole plant in a twin-screw extruder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The objective of this study was to manufacture new thermal insulation fiberboards by thermo-pressing. The starting material was a slightly deoiled cake (17.6% oil content), generated during the biorefinery of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) whole plant ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Thermal properties of a new ecological building material / Granular cork embedded in white cement

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2014
Cork, natural and renewable product, has thermal and acoustic properties very interesting because of its microstructure and porosity representing a significant portion of its apparent volume; it’s coming from Moroccan Maamora’s forest.

APPLICATION OF THE COMPOSITE MIXTURE IN THE PRODUCTION OF FLOUR CONFECTIONERY PRODUCTS

open access: yesАлматы технологиялық университетінің хабаршысы, 2022
Currently, the combination of trends in the increase in the biological value of food products forces manufacturers to seek new non-traditional sources of plant raw materials for the production of confectionery products. One of the most effective areas of

Surface properties of the ethanol/water mixture: Thickness and composition [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Liquids, 2019
Ethanol is a common amphiphilic solvent often used in conjunction with water. However, despite its widespread use, key questions regarding the thickness and composition of molecules at the ethanol/water/air surface remain unclear. Recent thermodynamic analyses, Bagheri and co-authors (2016) and Santos and Reis (2018), indicated that the interfacial ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Properties of nanostructured diamond-silicon carbide composites sintered by high pressure infiltration technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A high-pressure silicon infiltration technique was applied to sinter diamond–SiC composites with different diamond crystal sizes. Composite samples were sintered at pressure 8 GPa and temperature 2170 K.
