Comment on “Surface properties of ethanol/water mixture: Thickness and composition”
Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2019Abstract A controversial discussion regarding the estimation of surface thickness in aqueous ethanol as calculated by Phan and co-workers (2019) from neutron reflectivity experiments and by Bagheri et al. (2016) and Santos and Reis (2018) from surface tension data and equality of chemical potentials is addressed.

Composite Materials Property Determination by Rule of Mixture and Monte Carlo Simulation
2018 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM), 2018This research highlights the novelty of using Monte Carlo Simulation Method (MCSM) for material prediction in 3D printing. In the recent years, the production processes pay particular attention to optimize the use of materials. optimizing the product for a certain percentage positively affects the saving of resources, and this fact motivates the ...

Near-infrared spectroscopic determination of compositions and properties of methanol-water mixtures
Vibrational Spectroscopy, 1994Abstract Compositions and physical / chemical properties of methanol-water mixtures have been determined simultaneously by near-infrared (near-IR) spectroscopy. Near-IR spectra of the mixtures measured in the 1100–1870 nm region are correlated with concentrations and various properties by principal component regression. The properties studied include

Influences of mixture composition on properties and freeze–thaw resistance of RCC
Construction and Building Materials, 2011Abstract The paper reports a series of lab investigations carried out on roller compacted concrete (RCC) mixtures containing a wide range of cement contents (100 and 450 kg/m 3 ). The key objectives were to appreciate the effects of variations in the cement content and air entrainment on basic physical, mechanical properties and freeze–thaw (F–T ...

Estimation of Physical Properties and Composition of Hydrocarbon Mixtures
2003Economical and optimum design and operation of refinery units and related industry largely depend on accurate values of thermodynamic and physical properties of related fluid mixtures used in process simulations. Thermodynamic and physical properties are also known as thermophysical or simply physical properties and include but not limited to PVT ...

Local composition modelling of the thermodynamic properties of refrigerant and oil mixtures
International Journal of Refrigeration, 1996Abstract Six local composition models of the thermodynamic behaviour of mixtures are described. Using data from the literature and a non-linear regression analysis, a comparison of the predictive abilities of the models is undertaken for R12, R22, R134a and R125 with various oils.

Properties of Gas‐Generating Mixtures Related to Different Fuel and Oxidizer Compositions
Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, 2003AbstractThis work focuses on solid energetic materials designed to produce high‐pressure gas for pressurizing or inflating devices. In small gas generators sodium azide is often used. Unfortunately, this chemical exhibits drawbacks concerning toxicity and yield of gas. Other classical gas‐generating agents are double base propellants.

Influence of Ti and B powder mixing modes on mixture properties and SHS composite microstructure
Izvestiya vuzov. Poroshkovaya metallurgiya i funktsional’nye pokrytiya, 2020The paper studies the influence of mixing modes for titanium and boron powder mixtures with the 81.5 % Ti + 18.5 % B composition in a ball mill on the process characteristics of mixtures, combustion parameters, and microstructure of SHS composites. It is shown that the dependence of the electrical resistivity on the density of charge compacts for the ...

Effect of feldspar concentrate composition on structure and properties of ceramic mixtures
Glass and Ceramics, 1999Feldspar concentrates produced from concentrated rocks of Karelia are investigated as components of hard porcelain mixtures. The effect of feldspar concentrates having different ratios of potassium and sodium oxides, the mineralogical composition, and the structural specifics on the structure and properties of porcelain mixtures is studied.
