Column-by-column compositional imaging by z-contrast STEM
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1992The use of a high-angle detector in STEM imparts incoherent characteristics to the image while simultaneously introducing a strong compositional sensitivity through the ∼Z2dependence of the highangle scattering cross sections. The destruction of coherence is achieved in two ways.

Slender Composite Beam‐Columns
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1988A method for performing inelastic stability analysis of composite beam‐columns under different load and end conditions is presented. Nondimensional expressions describing the moment‐thrustcurvature relations are derived and then used to formulate and solve the governing differential equations.

Steel-Concrete Composite Columns
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 1997Structural steel shapes and tubes can be used with concrete to produce structural components. The performance of such composite systems, is better than the sum of responses of the parts taken separately. In a concrete-filled steel tube caisson, for example, the steel casing resists flexural tension efficiently while confining the concrete core as the ...

Axial compression behaviour of bolted-flange composite column–column connection
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2022Reliable column–column connection contributes to a reduction in waste materials and enables structures to be demountable after their service life. This paper demonstrates the feasibility of using a bolted-flange connection with concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns subjected to axial compression load.

Composite Connections to External Columns
Journal of the Structural Division, 1976The behavior of beam-to-column connections in composite rigid frames is examined and the results of tests on ten specimens are presented. The steel beams are connected to concrete slabs by welded studs and are subjected to negative moment. The columns are of encased I-section bent about the major axis.

Elastic Stability of Composite Column
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1992A vertical column possessing two different flexural rigidities is clamped at the bottom end and is free at the top. Both piecewise uniformly distributed axial loads (self-weights) and a concentrated load at the top are applied to the column. For the buckling load, the governing differential equation is a second-order nonlinear with variable ...

Fiber Composite Columns Under Compression
Journal of Composite Materials, 1972The micromechanics of fiber composite columns under compression is investigated theoretically. The model is based on the assumption that the fiber buckles inside the matrix. In the postbuckling range the fiber is considered as a beam on elastic foundation. The value of the foundation constant is evaluated for a cylindrical fiber.

Buckling of cracked composite columns
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1990Abstract A crack in a structural element introduces a significant local flexibility which enhances the instability. Buckling of an edge-notched beam is studied for isotropic and anisotropic composites. The local compliance due to the presence of cracks in an anisotropic medium is formulated as a function of the crack-tip stress intensity factors and ...

In previous chapters we have discussed big data problems, Cassandra data modeling concepts, and various schema management techniques. Although you should avoid normalizing the form of your data too much, you still need to model read requirements around columns rather than primary keys in your database applications.

Tests on slender composite columns
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 1999Abstract This paper describes two series of load tests on slender composite columns: eight tests on concrete filled rectangular hollow steel section columns and seven tests on concrete encased rolled steel joist columns, both with end eccentricities producing moments other than single curvature bending. In all tests, normal strength concrete of grade
