Alkyltriphenylphosphonium Binding to Cardiolipin Triggers Oncosis in Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Alkyltriphenylphosphonium, exemplified by TPP+‐C14, preferentially accumulates in mitochondria and selectively binds to cardiolipin, a key phospholipid of the inner mitochondrial membrane, causing loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, severe cellular ATP depletion, and calcium imbalance.

Farnesyltransferase Deficiency in Cardiomyocytes Initiates Senescence and Contributes to Cardiac Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid overload suppresses SREBF2‐mediated FNTB expression, leading to defective Lamin A maturation and nuclear envelope instability. This nuclear catastrophe triggers a pro‐fibrotic senescence program in cardiomyocytes. Notably, restoring nuclear integrity via AAV9‐based gene therapy effectively attenuates cardiac remodeling, identifying the ...

Ionic Liquid Composite Polymer Electrolyte Membranes for the Unhumidified Intermediate Temperature Fuel Cell

open access: yesIonic Liquid Composite Polymer Electrolyte Membranes for the Unhumidified Intermediate Temperature Fuel Cell
We synthesized novel composite polymer electrolyte membranes of [EMIm](FH)nF (n = 1.3 and 2.3) ionic liquids and measured their physical and electrochemical properties. The ionic conductivities of composite membrane (P(VdF-co-HFP):s-DFBP-HFDP: [EMIm](FH)2.3F = 1:0.3:1.75 in weight ratio) were up to 11.3 and 34.7 mS cm-1 at 25 and 130{degree sign}C ...

The Mitochondrial Guardian α‐Amyrin Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology via Modulation of the DLK‐SARM1‐ULK1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

Extracellular Vesicles of Streptococcus anginosus Mediate Gastritis via Epithelial Barrier Disruption and Macrophage‐driven Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Streptococcus anginosus extracellular vesicles (SA‐EVs) accumulate in gastric tissue, disrupt epithelial tight junctions, and induce gastritis characterized by neutrophil infiltration and elevated cytokines (TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17A). Proteomics identifies TMPC and FBP62 as key SA‐EVs virulence factors; their genetic deletion attenuates inflammation ...
