Students of composition develop two skills simultaneously: craft and creativity. Since students are more naturally inclined to focus on one of these skills over the other, finding the proper balance is an educational challenge. An effective pedagogical system for composition cultivates both of these necessary skills.

Composite materials in the form of fiber-reinforced matrix materials as, for example, graphite-epoxy, are being increasingly used in critical structures and structural components because of their high strength-to-weight ratio. In order to assess the integrity of these structures, it is necessary to employ suitable methods for quantitative NDE.

Often, neither the number of sources nor their chemical profiles are known precisely.
