Radiation Damping in a Non-Abelian Strongly-Coupled Gauge Theory
We study a `dressed' or `composite' quark in strongly-coupled N=4 super-Yang-Mills (SYM), making use of the AdS/CFT correspondence. We show that the standard string dynamics nicely captures the physics of the quark and its surrounding quantum non-Abelian

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

Towing Motion Characteristics of Composite Bucket Foundation for Offshore Wind Turbines
Composite bucket foundation (CBF) is an environmentally friendly form of offshore wind power foundation. By virtue of the air-floating subdivision structure in the bucket, the foundation has a self-floating characteristic and can allow for long-distance ...

Multifractality of Brownian motion near absorbing polymers
We characterize the multifractal behavior of Brownian motion in the vicinity of an absorbing star polymer. We map the problem to an O(M)-symmetric phi^4-field theory relating higher moments of the Laplacian field of Brownian motion to corresponding ...

Free vibration of thin-walled composite box beams [PDF]
Free vibration of a thin-walled laminated composite beam is studied. A general analytical model applicable to the dynamic behavior of a thin-walled composite box section is developed.

Motion representation using composite energy features
This work tackles the segmentation of apparent-motion from a bottom-up perspective. When no information is available to build prior high-level models, the only alternative are bottom-up techniques. Hence, the whole segmentation process relies on the suitability of the low-level features selected to describe motion.

ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Changing shapes: adiabatic dynamics of composite solitary waves
We discuss the solitary wave solutions of a particular two-component scalar field model in two-dimensional Minkowski space. These solitary waves involve one, two or four lumps of energy.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
