Evaluation of the Surface Roughness of Bulk-Fill Composite Resins after Submission to Acidic and Abrasive Aggressions

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
This in vitro study aimed to assess the erosive effect of hydrochloric acid in association with toothbrushing procedure on the surface condition of three bulk-fill composite resins used for direct restoration.

Numerical analysis of high-index nanocomposite encapsulant for light-emitting diodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We used two-dimensional Finte-Difference-Time-Domain (FDTD) software to study the transition behavior of nano-particles from scatterers to an optically uniform medium. We measured the transmission efficiency of the dipole source, which is located in the high refractive index medium(index=2.00) and encapsulated by low index resin(index=1.41).

Adhesive for cryogenic temperature applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Adhesive, which bonds a metal liner to a filament wound composite structure used for cryogenic pressure vessels, prevents the metal liner from buckling under depressurization.

Advanced glycation end products promote the release of endothelial cell‐derived mitocytosis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under diabetic conditions, AGEs induce mitochondrial damage in HUVECs, activating migrasome‐mediated mitocytosis. Migrasomes encapsulate damaged mitochondria and are released into the extracellular space, facilitating intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

Analysis of the Colour Change in Composite Resins When Exposed to Colouring Agents Possible to Be Found in the Oral Cavity

open access: yesMedical Sciences Forum, 2023
Currently, composite resins are widely used as aesthetic restorative materials. The success of any aesthetic restoration depends on the stability of the material’s colour.

Bayesian inversion in resin transfer molding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study the Bayesian inverse problem of inferring the permeability of a porous medium within the context of a moving boundary framework motivated by Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), one of the most commonly used processes for manufacturing fiber-reinforced composite materials.

Light‐Triggered Protease‐Mediated Release of Actin‐Bound Cargo from Synthetic Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
TEV Prtoease‐mediated Releasable Actin‐binding Protein (TRAP) is a protein‐based platform consisting of a cargo tightly bound to reconstituted actin networks in synthetic cells which can be proteolyticly released from the bound actin, followed by its secretion through membrane translocation mediated by a cell‐penetrating peptide.

A study on electrical properties of polymer enhancement by multiwalled carbon nanotube

open access: yesJournal of Kufa-Physics, 2022
In this research study composite materials (Epoxy resins / multi walled carbon nanotubes) were prepared by mixing ratio of multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) (1,2,3 and 4 %wt.).

Electrical conductivity of multi-walled carbon nanotubes-SU8 epoxy composites [PDF]

open access: yesAppl. Phys. Lett. vol.102, 223114 (2013), 2013
We have characterized the electrical conductivity of the composite which consists of multi-walled carbon nanotubes dispersed in SU8 epoxy resin. Depending on the processing conditions of the epoxy (ranging from non-polymerized to cross-linked) we obtained tunneling and percolating-like regimes of the electrical conductivity of the composites.

Impact of filler size and distribution on roughness and wear of composite resin after simulated toothbrushing

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2012
OBJECTIVES: Nanofilled composite resins are claimed to provide superior mechanical properties compared with microhybrid resins. Thus, the aim of this study was to compare nanofilled with microhybrid composite resins. The null hypothesis was that the size
