Experimental Research on Antiseismic Performance of High-Strength Concrete High-Shear Walls with Built-In Steel Plates

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2019
To study the antiseismic performance of the high-strength concrete composite shear wall with built-in steel plates, an experiment on a high-strength concrete composite shear wall with four built-in steel plates (SPRCW-1∼4) was set up.

Heat transport by turbulent Rayleigh-B\'enard convection for $\Pra\ \simeq 0.8$ and $3\times 10^{12} \alt \Ra\ \alt 10^{15}$: Aspect ratio $\Gamma = 0.50$

open access: yes, 2012
We report experimental results for heat-transport measurements, in the form of the Nusselt number \Nu, by turbulent Rayleigh-B\'enard convection in a cylindrical sample of aspect ratio $\Gamma \equiv D/L = 0.50$ ($D = 1.12$ m is the diameter and $L = 2 ...

Design of Composite Shear Wall Encased with Vertical Steel Profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The concept of steel-concrete composite shear wall is introduced due to the benefits achieved by integrating both the materials. These are structural walls, where steel profiles are encased at the boundary elements.

Photothermal Hydrogel with Mn3O4 Nanoparticles Alleviates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by Scavenging ROS and Regulating Extracellular Matrix Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The MPTT‐nanozyme‐hydrogel system (Mn3O4@ChS‐HA) provides a multifunctional therapeutic strategy for intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD), effectively targeting oxidative stress and enhancing AF repair by restoring extracellular matrix (ECM) and redox homeostasis.

Experimental study on the seismic performance of short shear walls comprising cold-formed steel and high-strength reinforced concrete with concealed bracing

open access: yesReviews on Advanced Materials Science, 2023
This study investigates the seismic performance of a composite structure comprising cold-formed steel and high-strength concrete. Four short shear walls composed of cold-formed steel and high-strength concrete, namely, one specimen without diagonal ...

Tunable Tactile Synapses Enabled by Erasable Doping in Iongel‐Gated Nanotube Network Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial tactile synaptic sensors are realized by an iongel‐gated single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) transistor with reversible doping characteristics. The device senses and memorizes tactile stimuli and exhibits gate bias‐dependent excitatory or inhibitory synaptic behavior.

Designing of Self‐Dispersing Soft Dendritic Microcleaners for Microplastics Capture and Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The capture and recovery of microplastics from open aquatic systems is a complex problem, which necessitates nontrivial solutions. The principles of a comprehensive multistage process based on sustainably sourced microcleaners with hierarchical morphology are demonstrated.

A stochastic flow rule for granular materials

open access: yes, 2006
There have been many attempts to derive continuum models for dense granular flow, but a general theory is still lacking. Here, we start with Mohr-Coulomb plasticity for quasi-2D granular materials to calculate (average) stresses and slip planes, but we ...
