Lytic and mechanical stability of clots composed of fibrin and blood vessel wall components. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background Proteases expressed in atherosclerotic plaque lesions generate collagen fragments, release glycosaminoglycans (chondroitin sulfate [CS] and dermatan sulfate [DS]) and expose extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins (e.g.

Temperature‐Enhanced Supramolecular Polymer Adhesion Provided by Concurrent Utilization of Calix[4]Pyrrole and Crown Ether Molecular Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Simultaneous utilization of calix[4]pyrrole‐ and crown ether‐based molecular recognition allows the construction of a high molecular weight alternating supramolecular polymer. This heat processible polymer can be used as a durable and reusable adhesive on glass and steel with temperature‐enhanced adhesion strength without the need for a solvent ...

Ultrasoft Iontronics: Stretchable Diodes Enabled by Ionically Conductive Bottlebrush Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a solvent‐free, ultrasoft, and stretchable ionic diode based on oppositely charged bottlebrush elastomers (BBEs). The BBE diode exhibits an ultralow Young's modulus (<23 kPa), a high rectification ratio of 46, and stretchability over 400%.

Numerical study on semi-supported steel composite shear wall at the edges under near and far-fault loading [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی عمران شریف
The shear wall is one of the most important systems to resist lateral loads in the building. In addition to controlling the lateral displacement of the structure and dealing with the lateral force, this system significantly increases the stiffness of the

Dynamics of simple liquids at heterogeneous surfaces : Molecular Dynamics simulations and hydrodynamic description

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we consider the effect of surface heterogeneity on the slippage of fluid, using two complementary approaches. First, MD simulations of a corrugated hydrophobic surface have been performed.

Bioinspired Shape Reconfigurable, Printable, and Conductive “E‐Skin” Patch with Robust Antibacterial Properties for Human Health Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, Hojin Kim, Sayan Deb Dutta, and co‐workers report a shape‐reconfigurable, 3D printable, and highly adhesive slime‐like ‘electronic skin’ or ‘E‐skin’ patch for human health sensing and tissue engineering applications. The dual reinforcement of hydrogel patch with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) improve the ...

Parametric vibration of thin-walled composite beams with shear deformation

open access: yesJournal of Sound and Vibration, 2007
The dynamic stability of thin-walled composite beams, considering shear deformation, subjected to axial external force, has been investigated in this paper. The analysis is based on a small strain and moderate rotation theory, which is formulated through the adoption of a second-order displacement field.

Impact of composite plates: Analysis of stresses and forces [PDF]

open access: yes
The foreign object damage resistance of composite fan blades was studied. Edge impact stresses in an anisotropic plate were first calculated incorporating a constrained layer damping model.
