Macro modeling of steel-concrete composite shear walls

Structures, 2020
Abstract To date, many researchers have developed various types of macro models to simulate the general response of conventional steel plate and reinforced concrete shear walls. Although extensive numerical and experimental studies have been conducted to assess the seismic response of steel-plate concrete composite shear walls, a robust macro-model ...

Parametric analysis and new design formulas of a prefabricated energy‐dissipating composite slotted shear wall

Earthquake engineering & structural dynamics (Print), 2021
In a conventional wall frame system, shear walls typically exhibit less deformation capacity under earthquakes than the frame. In this study, an innovative prefabricated slotted composite shear wall was proposed, abbreviated as CDSW.

Seismic Collapse Assessment of Composite Plate Shear Walls

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2020
AbstractCollapse evaluation of composite plate shear walls (C-PSWs) under seismic loading requires a reliable analytical model that can accurately capture deterioration in the strength and stiffnes...

Experimental seismic behavior of innovative composite shear walls

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2016
Abstract In this paper, an innovative structural wall, named bundled lipped channel–concrete (BLC–C) composite wall, is proposed. The proposed wall consists of bundled lipped channels seam-welded together and in-filled concrete. Seven full-scaled specimens were tested under axial load subjected to cyclic lateral load.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF NEW-TYPE COMPOSITE SHEAR WALL

DYNA, 2019
The composite shear wall structure is an industrialized and promising product in civil engineering. Its application in the industry is limted and not satisfying due to the tremendous difficulty in manufacturing the lattice reinforced shear walls and ...

Shear coefficients for thin-walled composite beams

Composite Structures, 1987
Abstract The shear coefficient in Timoshenko beam theory is obtained for thin-walled beams constructed of laminated panels of composite material using a variation of the method due to Cowper. Formulae are presented for a class of such composite beams. Comparisons are made with Cowper's original formulae for the case of an isotropic beam.

Experimental study and design method of shear-dominated composite plate shear walls

Engineering Structures, 2020
Abstract Many skyscrapers have used the Reinforced Concrete (RC) filled Composite Plate Shear Walls (CPSW). Based on in-plane shear tests on six shear-critical CPSW specimens and a RC shear wall specimen, the behavior of CPSW systems with stud or tie bar connectors, various connector spacings, and various axial compression ratios were reported.

Effect of axial compression ratio on concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2018
This study proposes a new type of shear wall, namely, the concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall, for high performance seismic force resisting structures. In order to study the seismic behavior of concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall,

Shear center for elastic thin-walled composite beams

Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 1995
An analysis to determine shear centers for anisotropic elastic thin-walled composite beams, cantilevered and loaded transversely at the free end is presented. The shear center is formulated based on familiar strength of material procedures analogous to those for isotropic beams.
