Shear Strength of Concrete and Gypsum Composite Walls

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Gypsum walls are a green product that helps to save energy and protect the environment. This paper investigates the shear strength of glass fiber reinforced gypsum (GFRG) walls fully or partially filled with concrete in the hollow cores. Eight full scale GFRG walls were tested. The shear performance of the tested walls, including the shear failure mode,

Macro modeling of steel-concrete composite shear walls

Structures, 2020
Abstract To date, many researchers have developed various types of macro models to simulate the general response of conventional steel plate and reinforced concrete shear walls. Although extensive numerical and experimental studies have been conducted to assess the seismic response of steel-plate concrete composite shear walls, a robust macro-model ...

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF NEW-TYPE COMPOSITE SHEAR WALL

DYNA, 2019
The composite shear wall structure is an industrialized and promising product in civil engineering. Its application in the industry is limted and not satisfying due to the tremendous difficulty in manufacturing the lattice reinforced shear walls and ...

Experimental seismic behavior of innovative composite shear walls

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2016
Abstract In this paper, an innovative structural wall, named bundled lipped channel–concrete (BLC–C) composite wall, is proposed. The proposed wall consists of bundled lipped channels seam-welded together and in-filled concrete. Seven full-scaled specimens were tested under axial load subjected to cyclic lateral load.

Seismic Collapse Assessment of Composite Plate Shear Walls

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2020
AbstractCollapse evaluation of composite plate shear walls (C-PSWs) under seismic loading requires a reliable analytical model that can accurately capture deterioration in the strength and stiffnes...

Effect of axial compression ratio on concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2018
This study proposes a new type of shear wall, namely, the concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall, for high performance seismic force resisting structures. In order to study the seismic behavior of concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall,

Shear coefficients for thin-walled composite beams

Composite Structures, 1987
Abstract The shear coefficient in Timoshenko beam theory is obtained for thin-walled beams constructed of laminated panels of composite material using a variation of the method due to Cowper. Formulae are presented for a class of such composite beams. Comparisons are made with Cowper's original formulae for the case of an isotropic beam.

Cyclic performance of composite shear walls with boundary elements

Structures, 2020
Abstract In the past three decades, several experiments were conducted to investigate the seismic behavior of composite plate shear walls (C-PSW) because of their advantages to conventional reinforced concrete (RC) and steel plate shear walls (SPSW).

Behaviour of Steel Plate Shear Walls with Composite Columns

Structures Congress 2008, 2008
Research on conventional steel plate shear walls has developed recently to the point where their behaviour is reasonably well understood. However, the potential exists to design steel plate shear walls to take advantage of the benefits of composite columns and in this regard, considerably less information is available to designers.

Cyclic Behavior of Traditional and Innovative Composite Shear Walls

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2004
Shear wall systems are one of the most commonly used lateral-load resisting systems in high-rise buildings. The composite shear wall system studied herein consists of a steel plate shear wall with a reinforced concrete wall attached to one side of it using bolts.
