Summary A Green's function formulation for flow to a well in a reservoir of a composite structure with each internally homogeneous subreservoir arranged contiguously is presented. The formulation is then used to derive source functions. Attention is focused on line and point sources, with a view to consider fractured and horizontal wells.

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1992
Most composite‐slab designs in the United States are based on the results of extensive testing programs. These programs result in the development of load tables that structural engineers use for the design of composite slabs. Details of the required test program and subsequent determination of design live loads are presented in the ASCE standard ...

Plastic design of continuous composite slabs
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 1990Abstract The present regulations for composite slabs contain simplifications for the design of continuous slabs. Plastic analysis is not allowed unless it can be shown that the plastic hinges have sufficient rotation capacity to allow for the redistribution of moments.

Bamboo-concrete Composite Slabs
IABSE Congress Reports, 2012<p>Bamboo is a natural material that is highly sustainable and has very favourable material properties, specifically high longitudinal strength and low density. This paper presents a new concept for the use of bamboo that specifically exploits its high tensile strength.

Composite Performance of FRP—Concrete Composite Slabs
Journal of Residuals Science and Technology, 2016In this paper, four FRP-concrete composite slabs and one FRP profile without concrete slabs were tested through two types of shear connectors including FRP perfobond shear connectors and epoxy adhesive under positive and negative loads. For composite specimens under negative loads, flexural buckling failure was observed on the top flanges of FRP ...

Progress in Structural Engineering and Materials, 1998
AbstractComposite slabs are now one of the most popular methods of steel frame floor construction in the world. This article describes the history of their development with special reference to the research undertaken to predict their behaviour. The essential nature of the system is that the profiled steel sheeting acts as both a form and reinforcement

Fire resistance of composite slabs
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 1995Abstract Composite slabs are slabs in which profiled steel sheeting acts as a permanent formwork and as reinforcement to the concrete placed on top. During fire the sheeting heats up and loses strength. However, tests have shown that due to the heat absorbed by the concrete, the performance is better than that of unprotected steel and that fire ...

Numerical Evaluation of Composite Slabs
2020Composite slabs with steel decking are widely gaining popularity due to its structural and economic advantages over ordinary slabs. In composite slabs the concrete takes compressive stresses and the metal deck acts as a permanent reinforcement and takes the tensile stresses. Composite slabs provide better distribution of loads acting on floors which in
