Association between Discordance of Disease Activity Indices and Quantitative Sensory Testing Measures of Nociplastic Pain in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective This study investigates the association between discordance in commonly collected clinical indicators of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity and abnormalities in quantitative sensory testing (QST) observed in individuals with nociplastic pain.

The Immobilization of Hyaluronic Acid in 3D Hydrogel Scaffolds Modulates Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
This study explores the use of collagen‐hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogels for the 3D culture of macrophages, providing a useful tool for modelling macrophage behavior in tissues and diseases. It highlights how hydrogel composition, mechanical properties, and preparation methods influence macrophage behavior, revealing for the first time that HA's ...

Light Scalars in Composite Higgs Models

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2019
A composite Higgs boson is likely to be accompanied by additional light states generated by the same dynamics. This expectation is substantiated when realizing the composite Higgs mechanism by an underlying gauge theory.

3D In Vitro Models of Breast Cancer: Current Challenges and Future Prospects Toward Recapitulating the Microenvironment and Mimicking Key Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In vitro cancer models are advantageous for studying important processes such as tumorigenesis, cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis. The complexity and biological relevance increase depending on the model structure, organization, and composition of materials and cells.

The general propagator for S-wave threshold states

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We demonstrate that the propagator, derived from an Effective Field Theory (EFT) that incorporates Weinberg’s compositeness theorem, provides a more general formula for describing S-wave near-threshold states.

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.
