Compositeness Of Quasibound States from Effective Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The internal structure of exotic hadron candidates are studied from the viewpoint of the compositeness of near-threshold states. We focus on the Weinberg's weak-binding relation between the experimental observables and the compositeness of the state ...

Concave Compositions [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2011
Concave compositions are compositions (i.e. ordered partitions) of a number in which the parts decrease up to the middle summand(s) and increase thereafter. Perhaps the most surprising result is for even length, concave compositions where the generating function turns out to be the quotient of two instances of the pentagonal number theorem with ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

A more natural composite Higgs model

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Composite Higgs models provide an attractive solution to the hierarchy problem. However, many realistic models suffer from tuning problems in the Higgs potential. There are often large contributions from the UV dynamics of the composite resonances to the

The effect of salubrinal on the endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway in heat‐stressed spermatogonial cells in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigates the protective role of salubrinal against heat‐induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in mouse spermatogenic cells (GC1 and GC2). By modulating the ER stress pathway, salubrinal alleviates cellular stress and supports spermatogenic cell survival, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic candidate for heat‐related infertility.

Nontriviality of Gauge-Higgs-Yukawa System and Renormalizability of Gauged NJL Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
In the leading order of a modified 1/Nc expansion, we show that a class of gauge-Higgs-Yukawa systems in four dimensions give non-trivial and well-defined theories in the continuum limit. The renormalized Yukawa coupling y and the quartic scalar coupling

Probabilistic interpretation of compositeness relation for resonances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Bound, antibound and resonance states are associated to poles in the on-shell partial wave amplitudes. We show here that from the residues of the pole a rank 1 projection operator associated with any of these states can be extracted, in terms of which a ...

Pioglitazone plus (−)‐epigallocatechin gallate: a novel approach to enhance osteogenic performance in aged bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

Determination of the compositeness of resonances from decays: The case of the B s 0 → J / ψ f 1 ( 1285 ) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We develop a method to measure the amount of compositeness of a resonance, mostly made as a bound state of two hadrons, by simultaneously measuring the rate of production of the resonance and the mass distribution of the two hadrons close to threshold ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐
