Compound Hermite and Stuttering Poisson Distributions

Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 1990
In this paper we discuss the compound distribution of Stuttering Poisson distribution when the parameters are assumed to be independent random variables. Compounding of the Hermite distribution, whtch is a special case of the Stuttering Poisson distribution, is briefly discussed.

Global Distribution of Persistent Organochlorine Compounds

Science, 1995
The global distribution of 22 potentially harmful organochlorine compounds was investigated in more than 200 tree bark samples from 90 sites worldwide. High concentrations of organochlorines were found not only in some developing countries but also in industrialized countries, which continue to be highly contaminated even though the use of many of ...

On the Likelihood Ratio Test for Compound Distributions for Homogeneity of Mixing Proportions

Technometrics, 1982
We consider the problem of comparing two multivariate compound distributions each with component densities f 1, (x) and f 2(x) and with mixing proportions p x and (1 – px) for the first compound distribution and py and (1 – py ) for the second.

Compound and mixed distributions

Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, 1989
We investigate compound distributions, mixed distributions and relations between them. As applications we show how some results on infinite divisibility are easily obtained and we prove a theorem stating that any stochastic process on [0,\(\infty)\) with increasing trajectories vanishing in a neighbourhood of the origin and with stationary and ...

Flow Distribution in Compound Channels

Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 1985
The performances of four of the most commonly used methods for discharge calculation in compound channels of varying roughness, were assessed by comparison with laboratory data. The four methods are based on splitting the section into main channel and floodplain subdivisions using either horizontal or vertical interfaces.

Calculation of Compound Distribution

2010
Estimation of the capital under the LDA requires evaluation of compound loss distributions. Closed-form solutions are not available for the distributions typically used in operational risk and numerical evaluation is required. This chapter describes numerical algorithms that can be successfully used for this problem.

Compound gamma, beta and F distributions

Metrika, 1970
In this paper a compound gamma distribution has been derived by compounding a gamma distribution with another gamma distribution. The resulting compound gamma distribution has been reduced to the Beta distributions of the first kind and the second kind and to theF distribution by suitable transformations.

Approximation of aggregate claims distributions by compound poisson distributions

Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, 1985
Error estimates are given for the approximation of the individual model of risk theory by compound Poisson distributions. Theoretical portfolios and one life portfolio from practice demonstrate the quality of the estimates.
