. We present a technique to build an index based on sux arrays for compressed texts. We also propose a compression scheme for textual databases based on words that generates a compression code that preserves the lexicographical ordering of the text words.

A joint compression and indexing technique in wavelet compressed domain
IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2001. ICME 2001., 2001The recent MPEG 4 and JPEG 2000 standards address the need for content based coding and manipulation of visual media. The upcoming MPEG 7 standard proposes content descriptors, which succinctly describe the visual content for the purpose of efficient retrieval.

Indexing Compressed XML Documents
2012XML data compression process seems to be inevitable to solve some problems related to the evolutionary growth of such data. Therefore, the indexing of compressed XML data, meanwhile, remains an important process and needs improvement and development in order to exploit the compressed data for querying and information retrieval.

A Compressed Index for Hamming Distances
2014Some instances of multimedia data can be represented as high dimensional binary vectors under the hamming distance. The standard index used to handle queries is Locality Sensitive Hashing (LSH), reducing approximate queries to a set of exact searches.

INDEXING OF COMPRESSED TIME SERIES
2004We describe a procedure for identifying major minima and maxima of a time series, and present two applications of this procedure. The first application is fast compression of a series, by selecting major extrema and discarding the other points. The compression algorithm runs in linear time and takes constant memory.

The compressibility properties of Zagreb-area clays are evaluated based on oedometer consolidation test results for 177 undisturbed samples tested in the period between 2002 and 2007. The compression Cc and recompression Cr indexes are statistically correlated (linear regression) with the corresponding classification index properties.
