Bilateral Clavicle Fractures: A Report of Three Cases [PDF]
Bilateral clavicle fractures are uncommonly reported in the literature with the incidence being less than 0.5% of all the clavicle fractures. Bilateral clavicle fractures are caused either by high-energy transfer of compression forces across both ...

Postoperative care after lymphaticovenous anastomosis
In this report, we discuss the postoperative protocol for patients undergoing lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA) in our unit. Immediately after LVA, the incision site is closed over a small Penrose drain and a simple gauze dressing is applied without ...

Designing compression of preventive compression stockings [PDF]
The paper focuses on leg diseases and the application of preventive compression stockings in people who perform their working tasks in the standing position, pregnant women and recreational athletes. Specific amounts of compression classes from several significant European standards are shown.

Terminology: resistance or stiffness for medical compression stockings?
Based on previous experimental work with medical compression stockings it is proposed to restrict the term stiffness to measurements on the human leg and rather to speak about resistance when it comes to characterize the elastic property of compression ...

Time to Compress the Time to First Compression [PDF]
Out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), often described as the most time‐sensitive and life‐threatening medical condition, remains a major public health problem.[1][1] Survival remains low in most settings, with enormous variation in community outcomes.[2][2] Although several ...

Significant volumes of knowledge have been accumulated in recent years linking subtle genetic variations to a wide variety of medical disorders from Cystic Fibrosis to mental retardation. Nevertheless, there are still great challenges in applying this knowledge routinely in the clinic, largely due to the relatively tedious and expensive process of DNA ...

Optimization of an Organic Rankine Cycle System for an LNG-Powered Ship
Recovering energy from waste energy sources is an important issue as environmental pollution and the energy crisis become serious. In the same context, recovering liquefied natural gas (LNG) cold energy from an LNG-powered ship is also important in terms

Compressibility of graphene [PDF]
We develop a theory for the compressibility and quantum capacitance of disordered monolayer and bilayer graphene including the full hyperbolic band structure and band gap in the latter case. We include the effects of disorder in our theory, which are of particular importance at the carrier densities near the Dirac point.
