Active Compression Bandage Made of Electroactive Elastomers [PDF]
Active compression bandages made of electro-mechanically active elastomers have recently been proposed to counteract dynamically, rather than statically, limb swelling due to various pathologies or conditions. To apply and modulate the compression pressure they exploit the ability of electroactive elastomer layer/s of changing size in response to a ...

Contractile vasculatures are fabricated through a one‐step bioprinting strategy. The adaptable microenvironment provided by ECM‐mimicking bioink triggers cell sorting and compartmentalization of endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells toward a histological configuration by focal adhesion kinase‐mediated upregulation of cell adhesion and ...

3D Bioprinted Renal Constructs Using Kidney‐Specific ECM Bioink System on Kidney Regeneration
A kidney‐specific bioink derived from decellularized porcine kidney tissue supports the encapsulation, viability, and maturation of human primary kidney cells within 3D bioprinted constructs. In vivo, it also promotes the recruitment of host renal progenitor cells, collectively enhancing structural and functional regeneration of renal tissue.

Compression of limbs by tight bandages [PDF]
Human body parts are sometimes compressed by tight clothes, footwear, bandages etc. Therefore, it is important to balance between functionality and comfort of garments in order to avoid negative effects on human health. Mechanical properties of both garment and tissue need to be taken into account for the analysis of pressure of tight garments.
